My friend, Lee, and I arrived pretty early, so we felt a bit awkward sort of hanging around not really knowing what to do. The Clinique ladies took charge of us and soon had us seated, with a glass of Appletiser and each of us with an assigned makeup artist. The purpose of the event was to try out the new chubby stick for eyes. But my friend and I actually ended up with a full makeover - one of the advantages of arriving early! I was hugely impressed by the makeover - and I'm a bit of a tough customer as I think I already know everything there is to know! :) But I learned a couple of things that evening. The Chubby Sticks are quite simply gorgeous - stunning colours with luscious names that make you want to take them all home with you! But that review will come later. The event itself was great fun, we had a good laugh and thoroughly enjoyed the pampering experience. We really felt like a million dollars afterwards. The only downside for me was that we didn't really get to meet the other testers from Beauty Bulletin - there was no-one to meet and greet, introduce us all etc. It was rather haphazard and I know some of the people had to wait quite some time for their turn. As we were already involved when most people arrived and they were involved when we left, we actually only met one person. I would have liked to have shared the experience with everyone. But that was a minor gripe, all in all, I loved the whole thing and am hugely grateful for the opportunity. :)

I was fascinated to learn that the well know "Clinique 3 Step" is not actually just 3 steps at all. I always thought it referred to "Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise" and that's that. However, it refers to those 3 steps, followed by another few steps, depending on your skin's needs.
I've been suffering with dry skin (yay, Joburg winter!) but I also have pigmentation and wrinkles and spots. Lovely.
So I was told to do the 3 steps using the face wash, toner and the yellow dramatically different moisturiser.
THEN, to apply the appropriate serum (Even Better in my case) and THEN apply the day or night cream! She used moisture surge as the final cream and I can't believe the difference in how my skin felt. No tightness or stretched feeling at all.
I've actually stuck with the routine for the last 2 weeks or so and have seen a dramatic improvement in my skin - it's looking clearer and softer. No flakiness at all. And gone is the dry stretched feeling.
Not at all what I expected to gain from the evening, but a huge win for me.
I've put together a video of the evening - please excuse my lack of voice as I was suffering from a nasty flu. I hope you enjoy it.
