I've so fussy with fake tanners, as most of them smell awful and leave you super orange or patchy.
I've only used Fake Bake tanners for the last 2 years, as their colour is much more natural, never streaks or goes patchy, and smells pretty nice for a fake tanner too. They're so ridiculously easy to use as well, they're just very pricey.
I've never had a problem with spending money on a fake tanner, as if I'm going to use one, I want it to look as natural as possible, or it's a complete waste of money. The bottle of Fake Bake spritz also lasts for ages.
I'd tried out the Caribbean Tan gradual tanning spray a while back and been completely underwhelmed by it. I ended up chucking out the can halfway through, as it just didn't work for me, and I didn't want to pass it on to anyone else.
When I had a browse through the Caribbean Tan products one day at Dischem, I thought maybe I should give them a second chance, as they're a quarter of the price of my Fake Bake tanner. I figured that I'd try out the spritzer version this time, as I'd been so happy with the Fake Bake version.
The tanner comes with a mitt so you can smooth out any areas. It has instant colour to it, so you can see where you've applied it, and it smells fairly decent for a tanner. Once you've applied it, it'll develop for the next 8 hours, so you can't shower for 8 hours at least.
I chose the B (white/beige) and it was a perfect transition colour from winter to summer - not as deep as the Fake Bake tanner I've been using, but still really natural and not orange at all. I think I'll buy the darker one soon, so that I can go a bit deeper next time.
It also lasts on the skin really well, and just fades naturally, like a real tan would.
My first self tanner was the tanning spritzer from Caribbean Tan Self, and what an awesome product! I am quite surprised at how easy this is to apply and I didn't find it messy at all! So my first experience with a self tanner was quite pleasant (I expected it to be very messy!)
I really absolutely loved this tanner! It was easy to apply and the product itself goes far. I ended up using only half a bottle for mt full tan and my tan came out great! My tan lasted me 8 days, which would probably have lasted longer if I used the Caribbean Tan care products, but overall I am very impressed with how long it lasted.
I love this product. I am extremely pale and I don't tan, I just get freckles. I love that the colour change is immediate. Firstly, I can 'tan and go' and secondly, I can make sure that I've applied it evenly. As with all self tan products you do need to make sure that you moisturise areas like knees and elbows beforehand. I do not go orange at all, the colour is lovely and bronze.
