A Dash of Flash – Hair Removal

Well Valentines Day is coming up and you might be planning something sexy this year, especially if you are spending your day with your very own Mr Grey.  Some of you ladies might be planning a soft candle lit dinner while the rest of you might have children or cannot, for some reason, plan a special evening. Whatever your plans, you should make time for yourself to feel special and well…groomed!

Now some of you may not have had your lady area groomed before, and while you might be sceptical of the various methods, it is a hygienic and common practice amongst millions of women! More salons are offering wax options by the day; in fact it is pretty difficult to come by a salon that doesn’t offer you the “grooming option”. Now that Valentines Day is around the corner, love is not the only thing floating around in the air…there are hundreds of Valentines Day specials and packages available to salons. Simply visit your one of preference and find out for yourself.
So ladies, lets get started. Whether you need a friend to hold your hand or your curiosity is simply piqued. Here is the low down on the ever dreaded, but well sought after wax!

Regular Bikini Wax:
This is where you will have the hair removed from your bikini line. Where the bikini sits on your skin. This is one of the less painful types of waxes and is super fast, so you pop in and within a few minutes you are free to go.

Brazilian Wax:
This is one of the most popular kinds of waxes. It is removal of the hair along the bikini line that runs down all the way to your “money maker”. The only hair that is visible is a strip commonly known as a “landing strip” and is a few centimetres in both length and width.

Hollywood Wax:
This wax is the removal of ALL hair! Your entire “booty” and your entire “coochie” are bereft from any pubic hair. This might be a tad more painful for first timers, but if you are feeling brave and curious, why not “pull” this one off!

Bollywood Wax:
Well this one is certainly more interesting than your “regular” wax. In fact, I would recommend it for any sort of “Mr Grey” occasion. It is the same as a Hollywood, all the hair is removed and instead of a strip of hair, the salon specialist applies a design on that has bling. If you haven’t heard of it, you are about to!

The blingage that is applied onto your lady bed is known as Vajazzle. That right ladies, prepare to dazzle your VJ! It is really quite interesting and they come in all sorts of designs and colours! The crystals are genuine Swarovski crystals and are either applied directly to your woman bedding, or simply on a surrounding area. It really is quite pretty and can be quite the “VDAY gift for your VJAY”.

Advanced Designs That Can Be Created For Your Wax:
Some salons do designs with your remaining hair; they can create a pattern before your wax so that you are left with designs such as a lightning bolt, a heart or even a flower.

If you have never waxed before, then here are a few pointers. Waxing is similar to tweezing. The hair follicles are uprooted and removed in a quick motion, the difference is wax removes quite a few hairs in one swift motion. With time, the hair removal is less painful as the hair grows back thinner and in some cases, not at all.

Things to consider
•    The hair needs to be about 1cm long
•    If your hair is longer, trim before you go for the wax
•    Don’t go during your menstrual cycle as it is unhygienic and can result in a most unsavoury outcome
•    Don’t go for a wax just before your cycle either, your genital area is much more sensitive during this time
•    Preferably go straight after your cycle is complete
•    Take a pain killer before the time to reduce discomfort
•    Wear loose fitting pants and comfy underwear or none at all
•    Don’t exercise or take a hot shower after your wax
•    Avoid any kind of friction on the area as you will be sensitive during this time

According to family physician Emily Gibson, M.D., shaving pubic hair “removes a cushion against friction, leaves microscopic open wounds and exposes you to infections.”

So you see ladies at the end of the day, whether you have kids are not you can still add a dash of flash to your relationship and surprise your hottie! After all, we are in 50 shades mode and I’m pretty sure we are living accordingly! Consider this experience to be YOUR red room of pain!
