Oily Skin Care

Questions and Answers:
Q. Help I NEED skin care! I have very oily skin and am going for a job interview soon and am worried that I will look like I have been slaving over a hot stove all day! I don’t want to look shiny! Being nervous is bound to make me perspire more. What can I do?!
From – Oil slick

A.    Thanks for your question! Stick with us and we’ll take you from ‘Oil slick’ to ‘Cool as a cucumber’! Firstly, find a non-greasy moisturiser with an SPF in it that suits your skin tone. Some daily moisturisers are a bit oily when they have an SPF in so consider your options carefully in this regard and try a few testers out from different stores if you can. Then, use a primer. We love Smashbox’s photo finish primer! It helps mattify your skin and also assists in your foundations staying power. When choosing a foundation, make sure it is matte and that it hugs the skin without looking shiny. Perhaps also invest in a blot powder that won’t alter your make-up in any way, just absorb oil and eliminate shine. MACS blot powder compact is great! The medium/dark colour suits majority of us ladies, and it’s great for using on the ‘T’ panel which is where you definitely don’t want to look shiny. And, lastly girlfriend, invest in some blotting tissues.

We love Body Shops Tee tree oil blotting tissues. They’re great to pop in your nine west tote, and you can zoot off to the bathroom just before that interview to blot off any excess oil using only the best skin care!

Knock ‘em dead girlfriend!
