The company that founded Nivea, Beiersdorf was established in 1882. In 1900, Oskar Troplowitz took over the brand and was the first to develop a water in oil emulsion. It was the first of its kind. Nivea was one of the first skin care products to be perfumed which drew many consumers to the product.

In 1906 Nivea opened its first branch in London and continued its expansion. Eventually, 3 years later, Nivea launched the famous brand Labello. Labello was a lip care formula that took the nation by storm and is still a popular product worldwide.

After the deaths of the owners, Nivea became a limited company and a part of a stock corporation.

Nivea is a part of a foundation known as “We Care and Connect”. It is a foundation created for disadvantaged children. This campaign offers the youth a better and brighter future through education.

Nivea offers a wide variety of creams, facial creams, body creams and skin care products. A new range known as “Nivea Baby” has been released while Nivea caters for both men and women.
