And so the packaging with the long awaited pump was launched about 2 months ago in SA. We've only been asking for a pump like forever, and it's only taken Revlon 3 years to respond (I believe this was launched with a pump in Australia about 3 years ago.) Anyhow, the pump just makes this product that much more appealing as dispensing it is now much more sanitary and you can dispense exactly the right amount.
This always used to be my HG foundation but Revlon has tinkered with the formula and shades over the years and after much trial and error with finding a shade match, I very reluctantly had to part ways. I switched to EL Double Wear (at twice the price and also sans pump). The new formulation no longer contains Softflex and the shade range has been tweaked (no longer has Golden Beige which suited me perfectly!) But I was soooo excited when I discovered that it now has a pump, that I decided to relook the situation! And I'm so glad I did. I am now matched to the shade True Beige and the formula is very similar to the fail safe formula I remember. It doesnt dry as quickly as I remember on application and the coverage can be built up or sheared out. I love that it doesn't transfer, lasts all day, is easily removed with pre- cleansing oil, and keeps the oilies at bay all day. And the price for a foundation that ticks all those boxes makes it hands down the best value 'foundation that money can buy . I alternate foundations daily depending on my skin concerns but this is definitely my HG foundation. I'm so glad that we've been reunited :)
I used two bottles of this foundation and I tried both formulations- dry and oily. I liked this foundation however it was not my favourite. It is easy to work with since it is very liquidy, however it dries quicker than most foundations so I found that it is better to work in sections on your face. The coverage is really nice. The only problem I had with it was that it dried out my skin after a while even though I used the one for dry skin. I also didn't like the shade selection. I have a yellow undertone, but the colour buff was too yellow! If you get an exact shade match I think you'll love it! Pretty decent foundation!
Revlon Colorstay Foundations are very pocket friendly make-up that works perfectly on my ethnic combination skin.I get a longwearing makeup that provides coverage that's light and non oily. This makes this foundation perfect for day to day use and with a dusting of my oil control powder over my overactive t-zone, I'm sorted for the day.
This is by far my favourite foundation. It has the lasting power that I require (busy mom). It has a semi-matte finish which I also love, but most of all I love the full coverage it gives me - I suffer from pigmentation and this does the job, without it feeling as though you have a mask on. I have also never experienced break outs whilst using this.
I have used this for a very long time before trying Elizabeth Arden, but I loved this product as I have combination skin and it kept my skin matte where needed and did last the entire day and into evening without reapplying. I used very little though yet coverage was excellent which meant that it lasted forever as well as I did not look fake with lots of foundation. I found it easier to apply using my finger tips than any brush though.
ColorStay Makeup with SoftFlex provides lightweight comfort, so you feel like you’re not wearing makeup. Looks fresh for up to 24 hours.
Thick textured foundation with great coverage.
Pros: If you have pigmentation this product will do the trick but make sure you use a tiny bit of product.
Cons: Unfortunately this foundation cakes and does not look natural after a few hours. It claims that it's sweat proof but unfortunately it fails in that department too. If your heading out in low lighting conditions then by all means pack it on. A definite DON'T for day time.
I absolutely love this foundation! It provides the coverage needed to cover up any flaws or red marks without looking caked on, and contains an SPF. This is in my opinion, the best foundation in its price class.
