While some ladies prefer kohl or gel, I’d like to think of myself as a kind of connoisseur of eyeliner pens. This pen is great when used with or without eyeshadow. Just like the first mascara, it is waterproof (HUGE PRO!) and like the second mascara, it is buildable! Basically this means that you can add layers to make it a more intense black, or settle for a subtle cat eye that is not as dramatic with the black. Something that I found different with this eyeliner pen compared to others, is that the point is a little longer which allows for greater definition with your points and curves. As you can see from my swatch, you really are able to go from thick to thin with the greatest of ease – I love that about eyeliner pens! I find that you have more control with pens and you can really venture out with your design. The fact that this is waterproof makes it all the more appealing, I am so use to my eyeliner fading before bed that it surprises me when I use this, and wake up to find that it is still on and actually needs to be removed with makeup remover. Boy, does it deliver. I really like this mascara and have made sure to include it in my bring-along cosmetic bag, for that quick pick-me-up. The bristles do a great job of catching the finest lashes and coating them with an intense black formula. I like that the formula isn’t thick or dry, instead it is quite a thin liquid, which takes some time to dry. Usually I see this waiting time as a con, but I also understand why it needs that time. You see, this is a buildable mascara – so you are able to add layers to ensure thicker, fuller lashes – but if you were to have a quick drying mascara it would clump and leave you looking and feeling like a hot mess! The applicator brush is a silicone, with many tiny little bristles to ensure you cover each individual lash. I do not find myself using silicone brushes all that often, so was excited to give this one a try! The mascara formula is a rich thick black that manages to coat your lashes without causing any clumping, because of the many silicone bristles – you manage to grab each lash with the greatest of easy. I like that the wand is slim as you are able to cover from root to tip with no effort needed. I especially love the fact that this is waterproof (and humidity proof) I struggle to find mascaras and eyeliners that are truly waterproof and with it being summer, I definitely need one with those qualities. I know that a lot of people don’t like this factor as you struggle to take it off, but to me – this is a huge pro!
