I use this after washing my face as a toner at night and I also use this in the morning instead of a face wash. So your girl is hydrated AF. Also the few times I have used it to remove makeup, it didn't fail me. They were also pricey for wipes at R100 for a pack! This is probably the least effective micellar water I've used, as it didn't remove even regular mascara properly, nevermind my waterproof mascara. I was super disappointed, as a hydrating micellar water seemed like a dream come true. You'd do better to buy the Garnier one (with the pink top), or the Garnier oil infused micellar water, as they both remove stubborn makeup really well, and they are not only cheaper, but you get more product. ]]> Tue, 09 May 2017 13:09:19 +0000 <![CDATA[Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Micellar Water: • Beauty Review • Neutrogena Hydro Boost Micellar Water]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/neutrogena-hydro-boost-micellar-water-cleanser/discussions/32515/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/neutrogena-hydro-boost-micellar-water-cleanser/discussions/32515/ I was sent a few of the new Neutogena Hydro Boost products to test out and, boy, have they come in handy! I have been travelling so much in the last few weeks, constant flights between Durban and Johannesburg, and my skin was taking a beating! I'm sure you've experienced it before, as soon as you start to ascend to a higher altitude (i.e. flying in general or travelling between cities such as Durban and Johannesburg) you start to feel your facial skin tightening and your lips needing a couple extra coats of lip balm. Well, try doing that every week! My Neutogena Hydro Boost products couldn't have come at a better time! I was sent three products, their Hydro Boost Cleanser Micellar Water, Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser and their Hydro Boost Gel Cream Moisturiser. Hydro Boost it certainly does! I was neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed by the Micellar Water, I was just "whelmed" as Bianca would say in 10 Things I Hate About You. Micellar water is such a hyped about product these days and I have tried a bunch! This one did the job, but I can't really tell a huge difference between this, my Garnier Pure Active (I haven't tried the Oil Infused one yet) and Bioderma Micellar Water. Maybe this is a good thing though? It's equally as good as other leading micellar waters. Hyaluronic acid is the active ingredient in this range. It's moisture-binding characteristic is exceptionally important when it comes to skin aging. One of the qualities of youthful skin is its ability to hold water and retain a balanced amount of moisture. As we age, our skin loses the ability to maintain this vital, plumping moisture as well as it once did. The result is visible loss of firmness, pliability, and diminished appearance of plumpness and suppleness. Hyaluronic acid can enhance moisture content beyond comparison with anything else, and at the same time revitalize skin’s outer layers so they look and feel softer, smoother, and, especially, radiantly hydrated! That’s how it instantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid is quite high up in the ingredient list so that is always a plus, which is especially great for a drugstore product. I find I have to use quite a bit and sometimes use it twice over to get my face clean. I do like the softness of the texture and it’s a great added cleanser. I was using the Garnier Micellar Sensitive before trying this range. It did work better on its own as a cleanser but I feel the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Micellar Water leaves my skin silkier, more hydrated and cleaner with the aid of the rest of the range. How I’ve used the products: In the morning I use the cleanser in the shower to clean my skin of dead skin cells. Once out the shower I give my skin an extra cleanse with the micellar water on a cotton pad. I then use a generous amount of the water gel, paying careful attention to my dry spots and lips. Then comes putting on my face as I like to say (not that I use much makeup ;)). At night I get lazy at times and only use the cleanser sometimes. I use a facial wipe every night to get rid of makeup and impurities that have come to visit during the day. I give my face a good clean and then will sometimes do 2 rounds of cotton pads using the micellar water. I make sure the pad is clean before putting on a generous amount of water gel, paying careful attention to my dry spots and lips. I probably will buy the micellar water again. I love the fact that you can incorporate this one into your skin care regime by either applying it after the cleanser, no need to rinse it off or use it on its on instead of a cleanser. If you have dry skin, you can use the Micellar water as your main cleanser and the gel one a few times a week or less. I've only used it twice this far for makeup removal and it worked like a bomb.Be sure to use a cotton pad as it will make removal easier, all you do is dampen the pad with a few drops of Micellar water and remove makeup or build up until the pad is clean. It will remove the makeup with ease, no need to rinse and will leave your skin feeling soft and moisterised. ]]> Mon, 06 Feb 2017 13:22:27 +0000 <![CDATA[Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Micellar Water: Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Micellar Water]]> https://www.beautybulletin.com/neutrogena-hydro-boost-micellar-water-cleanser/discussions/32376/ https://www.beautybulletin.com/neutrogena-hydro-boost-micellar-water-cleanser/discussions/32376/ The Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Micellar Water was amazing. I have always had a particular soft spot for Micellar Waters and how refreshed and clean they make my skin feel. I used the Micellar water to remove make-up and between washing and hydrating with the Neutrogena® Hydro Boost Cleanser and Hydrating face lotion. The one thing I will say about this particular Micellar Water is that it wasn't entirely effective in terms of Make-up removal. However Neutrogena may boast that it is definitely more hydrating that the average Micellar water. I used the Micellar Water in the morning and evening before a shower or bath. I found that it left my skin oily and I was using 3 drops of it. Between the wipes and micellar water, I prefer using the wipes. They both do the same job which is removing make-up and skin impurities. While I LOVE Micellar Water , this specific one took a bit of getting used to for me. As I wear make-up daily , I am used to removing my make-up with Micellar water. I did find this took a bit longer to remove my make-up - especially my waterproof mascara but it does remove it in the end. While I didn't love it for removing my make-up - I did love it as a cleanser in the morning and for days that I wore heavier make-up after the cleansing gel. It's super easy to use a little on a cotton pad , wipe over your face and I'm ready to go on with my routine. I have been in love with Micellar Waters recently, and have been trying out different brands and products, so I was very excited to receive this. This product does not strip the natural oils from your face nor does it leave it dry and red, like I have found many other Micellar Waters to do so. Instead, it leaves your face feeling supple and flexible as well as super clean from impurities and grime. This is a no-rinse make up remover. I apply this product onto a cotton pad and gently wipe it across my entire face and over my eyes. This product does not burn my eyes or irritate them in the slightest – it is so gentle and tend on the eyes and sensitive patches on the skin. I have however found that this product removes most of my make-up but not all of it. I tend to have to go in with another make-up remover to get absolutely everything off. I started off my evening routine using the Hydro Boot Micellar Water to remove my make-up followed by the cleanser, but after day 5 I changed this around and used my Water Gel Cleanser first followed by the Micellar Water.
