You have to shake the bottle really well then one pump of the applicator produces a nice puffy amount of mousse which you dab your finger into a smooth over your face. It feels rather oily so I would recommend this for people with normal to dry skin. You are going to get a nice dewey look from this foundation. I found that when you build it up it does not look good so if you need layers then this is not for you . It does last relatively long and looks better if you dab powder onto your face after application .
