This balm smoothes and moisturizes my lips. There's a slight tingly sensation which makes it all the more better. I suffered with chapped and dry lips for quite a while and blistex saved my lips. I haven't had any side effects to this product, but I do recommend using blistex for a week or more untill your lips feel better and then switch to a normal hydroboost lip balm. Side effects or Oratane is that it makes you lips extremely dry and chapped and sensitive to the sun. I honestly did no think it would be that bad but it was awful. My lips were constantly flakey and peeling. I went to Mkem, and they recommended Blistex. It was such a great relief and helped with the excessive dryness and cracks. Due to my lips being very chapped it did burn a little when I applied, however it was a pleasant burn, it felt like relief. To this day I still use Blistex as my lips never returned back to normal. I am also a makeup addict so I have to take breaks from using lipsticks all the time because my lips get dry and irritated really easily.
