It does appear to make your hair look too oily when first applied, but as it sinks it it vanishes and leaves you with smooth and shiny locks! I wouldn't say it brightened or adjusted my actual hair colour but because of the shine it creates the dullness of the blonde is revitalised. It also diminishes the appearance of split ends (which blondes to to get a lot). You can use it before you dry your hair as it works as a heat protection or after its dry. Its great for taming frizz and static! 3 pumps is generally enough for my hair (and I have long hair) so it will last a while! Just a note: I would only put it from mid lengths down, you don't want oily roots! It brightens and protects the hair from heat styling and consequent damage. I used the oil in different ways to compare its performance: 1) On damp hair before a blow dry- my hair certainly felt smooth and looked super shiny! my recommendation though is to apply the oil to semi dry hair before blow drying, the wetter your hair the less it absorbs. 2) First thing in the morning onto dry hair- This worked extremely well and my hair was soft, smooth and tangle free with great shine! works well to tame flyways too!! 3) After blowdrying to tame frizz- This is how i use the oil 90% of the time now, as i feel that it absorbs well cause the hair is still warm and it tames all those pesky flyways really nicely, which also allows for easier styling. Overall a truly fantastic product. Split ends appeared less but it might be the smoothing properties of the oil that did the job! The pump dispensed just the right amount of oil, allowing me to distribute a thin layer on the ends of my hair. I avoid putting oil anywhere but the ends as I fear the oily residue typical of hair oils. Over all, this product is a winner in the hair oils range - delivering on its promise of brightening and nourishing my ends without leaving that oily residue.
