Versace started its glamorous fragrance line inspired by crystals in 2004 with Crystal Noir perfume, and then launched the lighter and fruitier Bright Crystal in 2006. In 2011, a new fragrance of the collection emerges, "a crystal that turns into a diamond," named Yellow Diamond. Yellow Diamond is crafted as a pure, transparent and airy floral fragrance, sparkling and intense as the yellow color, while being luxurious and feminine like a diamond. Its composition opens with luminous freshness of lemon, bergamot, neroli and pear sorbet. The heart features airy orange blossom, freesia, mimosa and water lily. The base is made of amber, precious musk and guaiac wood. The bottle is shaped like the previous editions of the collection, colored in yellow, while its box is decorated with baroque ornaments. The face of the campaign is an Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw, shot by Mario Testino in Paris.

I simply fell in love with this scent the very first time I smelled it. It was a love at first sight moment. My mom bought her the big bottle with vouchers that she had and paid about R450 for the bottle as it is quite expensive.
I love this perfume because it has a clean and refreshing smell which doesn't irritate my nose because I'm one of those unfortunate sinus sufferers.
This bottle also has a very glamorous appearance which makes me feel like I'm a lady of leisure :). When wearing this perfume, it is long lasting and I receive many compliments from both sexes.
THIS TOTALLY MAKES ME FEEL SOPHISTICATED, CLASSY AND LIKE A MILLION BUCKS!
Product Recommendation
As most of you who have read my perfume reviews, the first thing that catches my eye when shopping for perfumes is the appearance. I am not too impressed with this one. It is a pretty plain and simple bottle which isn't anything to brag about. The bottle top is the only thing with a bit of flair. I assume it is meant to look like a Yellow Diamond, but really it doesn't. Im not sure what to make of it.
The notes of the perfume however are as follows:
- Top Notes comprise mainly of Pear sorbet, Bergamot, Neroli and Orange blossom
- Middle Notes comprise mainly of Freesia and Mimosa
- Base Notes comprise mainly of Woods and Musk
Extremely heavy scent, and I do not like musky perfumes at all. I guess that is why I dont have a full size of this.

Since it is a designer fragrance, the prices are very steep.
If you like musky scents, go for it. If you don't, you may want to give this one a skip.
femininity you will turn heads when wearing this gorgeous fragrance from Versace.The Italians know how to make woman look and smell beautiful.
You would expect this fragrance to be all up in your face but surprisingly the intensity of its smell is "perfecto" (said with an Italian accent) I loved the packaging, surely who ever did the packaging had a picture of themselves in mind giving it as a gift to a woman where they waited for a long deep kiss as a sign of appreciation.
No doubt I will buy it again sometime. It's surely worth it.
I love the subtle airy floral fragrance. The yellow colour and the bottle shape also really unique. Wear that special sexy outfit, with just a touch of Versace Yellow Diamond behind the ears and lower neck line.
It is expensive at R730 for 50 ml, but really worth it. Definitely on my wish list for Mothersday!
