Foundation Primer

I was encouraged to try a very reasonably priced product – Palladio Herbal Foundation Primer. Having used their lovely matte eye shadows before, I was happy to part with my hard-earned cash.

I love all Palladio products - especially their eye shadows, I use them religiously every day.
I was a little disappointed by this primer though. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it makes your skin smooth, a lovely canvas for foundation. The reasons why I wouldn't purchase it again or use it again are because:

- When I put a drop on my finger it felt like the product just evaporated away. I like to see what im applying to my skin.
- It didnt fill in any of my pores nor did it take any redness away.

I think this product would be perfect for someone who just wants a simple primer that preps the face for applying foundation smoothly.

Wow, where to begin? This primer is one of the best I've used. You'll see that I use it in all my YouTube tutorials(TheShyGeek). It glides onto the skin, smoothes out any ridges and is very moisturizing even though it is silicone based. It definitely makes my foundation last longer and doesn't break me out. And lastly the price, you can't beat that price! Lovely product!

Firstly I don't like the packaging as the primer leaked out and made quite a mess in my bag. I now only store it lid-up to prevent leaking and can't use it while travelling.

As far as priming goes: it does help your foundation to go on a lot smoother. It has a very silky feel. Unlike my Clinique Pore Minimiser primer, this one doesn't dry out the skin. I didn't find that it prevented oilyness on my skin but I wasn't exactly disappointed because I mainly use my to create a smooth canvas for foundation.

For my eyelids personally this was way too greasy to prevent creasing so I wouldn't recommend it for that. I also noticed that it cloggs the pores a lot as it is silicone based. I try to use clay masks at least twice a week to prevent breakouts from this primer.

If you have some cash to spare, I would recommend trying it out, but if you are looking for a very high quality primer, in my opinion there are better ones out there....

I am happy to report that this is really a great value-for-money product which lives up to its claims. I was pleasantly surprised how non-greasy and silky it was on my skin and thrilled that my foundation (and concealer) stayed put until the evening. I normally have to carry around oil/shine-blotting papers, but I seldom need these any more.
It is also great as a pre-eye shadow primer. No more smudgy creases or panda-eyes by lunch time anymore! The small container is convenient to slip into your cosmetic bag.
