I started off using the liquid ink and have just purchased the waterproof liquid eyeliner and fell deeply head over heels for it, it has a matte finish compared to the glossy finish the original has and it dries up fast also when washing it off it doesn't run making you look like a racoon it washes off fairly easily. I must say when I came across this hunnie I was convinced it was the one. The application was a bit tricky especially if u have long lashes and you're in a hurry. Hold UP!!! so I lost that liner and went back to to get another one, out of curiosity I got the waterproof liquid eyeliner, the one with dark blue packaging...I tell you! I was blown away the flock tip made it so much easier to apply even in a rush with my extremely looooong lashes; it didn't give me much trouble. I bought the waterproof version and then I forgot all about it for a while. I struggled to perfect the winged eyeliner so I stopped using this and used the pen eyeliner instead. However the pen eyeliner is not as black and precise as this liquid eyeliner. When I started using this I was amazed! Easy, quick and the most amazing black line ever. I don't think it is best suited for beginners since I struggled in the beginning. I doesn't smudge or budge all day. Would not use a more expensive brand, since this does exactly the same thing! I've tried some others, and this one is by far the best I've tried. The applicator is not a brush as much as a cone shaped sponge. This is a good thing, since a brush can get feathery, or a bristle can go haywire while you're applying, making a bit of a mess. This applicator is solid, but yields well. It's not too thin, causing me to have to apply line after line. One or two strokes, and I'm done. It also dries pretty quickly. The best thing for me though, is that it lasts all day, and doesn't flake even in the tiniest amount. When I saw the Essence Liquid Ink liner for R30 I thought I might as well give it a go. This eyeliner comes with a fine brush applicator that I liked quite a bit. I am good at using liquid eyeliner and I found it very easy to apply with great precision, but I'm not too sure if the finer brush would be ideal for beginners. It dried fast and didn't smudge or get into the creases of my eye. The colour was a nice dark black and didn't fade too much as the day wore on. It also comes in a waterproof version that goes for R34.99, but I haven't tried that one out yet! The eyeliner fluid is a very richly pigmented black colour and has a slightly creamy texture. It dries to an opaque matte black finish in just one stroke and it takes less than 30 seconds to set. Once set the liner is completely waterproof and can only be removed with makeup remover (bi-phase or cream based removers work well). The brush is fine and flexible but not flimsy which makes applying the liner a little easier.
