So I decided to try it out, somehow when I saw it on a friends nails it looked really amazing, but when I tried it out myself I wasn't too impressed. I found that it didn't really crack that much and it actually looked like I didn't apply my polish very well rather than a trend which is sweeping everybody off their feet. I have used the OPI black cracking effect before and loved it over bright colours like pinks and reds. Essence recently sent me a gorgeous dark blue top coat which I used over different base coats and found I loved it over a completely solid white shade the most. The first nail has a glittery on and the cracking effect did not go on evenly over it. On my middle finger I applied it over a solid white colour (Blanc from Essie) and it really made the effect and colour pop. My ring finger I applied it as is over a clear base coat. Pinkie was over a solid black shade and it just seems to fade into one dark shade. Overall I was impressed and at only R25 one can affordably try out this trend.
