Nobody loves an oily looking face, which is why Essence created the perfect solution to solve the oily and shiny finish we have on your face. The new Essence all about matt fixing compact powder is an amazing compact powder which contains fine translucent powder which can be brushed or sponged onto our face, to create a smooth, matte complexion.
The colourless powder is perfect for anyone because you don't have to find time to match your shade because its for all skin tones. I find this translucent powder perfect for giving skin a natural finish all day long. I've used this compact with my BB Creams, Foundations and even over regular moisturiser to avoid an oily look.
The fixing powder comes in a clear glass compact. The actual powder has an embossed design which I think is really cute. I've been using this compact for just over two months and I can say this product is absolutely amazing! It gives skin a lovely natural finish with a soft feel to skin.
I would really recommend you give this product a try because it's affordable and does an amazing job keeping skin matte all day long! Plus the compact is slim and can fit in handbags, make up bags and clutch bags for touch ups on the go. The only down fall is the compact doesn't come with a sponge applicator, however it's not hard to get one, so it's not such a big deal.

This is a good one. I would not say that it completely mattifies, but it is so good for blotting. You can apply this up to 3 times during the day and it will not look cakey. It is extremely finely milled and velvety. For the price I will definitely say give it a try.

I can literally not live without this product, if I had to throw out everything in my make up drawer and got to keep one thing, it would be this product! I use this everyday of my life, when I'm wearing make-up and when I'm not wearing make-up. I have oily skin so this product is a must to keep the shine at bay through the day, I take it with me everywhere. My current one has been used down to the pan, I'm thinking to buy two this time, one for my bag and one for my make-up drawer. LOVE this product.

my T-zone gets extremely oily some days that's why I always have an extra "all about matte fixing compact poweder" in my handbag! When my T-zone gets oily I just touch up and I go on with my day! no cakey look, or putty look! Remember a little goes a long way!

Price is pretty cheap compared to other fixing powders, and this does quite a good job.
I like to use it when my skin feels especially oily and could use some mattifying. I also like to use it to give my lipstick or gloss a matte finish. Try not to use too much though, as it can make you look quite white. Just lightly dust it on.

I received this product in the Essence Advent Calendar and was thrilled to try it as I have heard good things about it :)
The smell is mild, almost odourless, which is lovely for people who have sensitive noses.
The powder is translucent which means it doesn't put any colour onto the skin, which is great for setting foundation on ANY skin colour.
The powder is soft and smooth when applying. It sets the makeup very nicley without 'caking'. I would definitely use this product again :)

I have super oily skin, not just around my T zone but my whole face. I am on my 4th repurchase of this product and it is phenomenal.
Setting my makeup with this powder allows it to say on longer than it would when using other powders.
To combat a bit of a white cast I just lightly go over my face with a powder of my skin tone and ta-da long lasting make up!
I use this in conjuction with the All Abut Matt setting spay.

I recently bought this powder and I am not disappointed. Sets my face really well and doesn't look cakey.
I wouldn't recommend using this for baking or under the eyes as it does have a slight white cast. I use this only for touching up my T-zone and setting the outside perimeter of my face.
Looks very smooth and makes the skin look very youthful.
I do however, use a slightly darker foundation when using this to set as ut does lighten the face slightly.

Personally I believe essence products deserve more credit than what they get! I am extremely clumsy when it comes to a loose fixing powder, lets just say it lands up everywhere except may face... So this led me opting for a compact powder. I bought my essence all about matt! fixing compact powder at Dischem for only R59.95; and excellent price for an excellent product!! It is very easy to use, keeps you oil free for a good couple of hours. A good tip for girls with oily skin is to keep in your handbag with a small brush, that way you can touch up through out the day without looking shiny!
I have been using this powder for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it! After I have applied my Neutrogena CC cream or my MAC foundation I will take a big fluffy brush and lightly dust some powder onto my T zone to get a lovely matt finish. Be careful not too apply too much powder because I do find it can leave you looking a bit more pale than usual! Other than that it leaves your skin feeling so soft and oil free!

The powder's packaging is clear acrylic, which flips open, it's not too small but not too big either, the right size to fit your brush into and just small enough to be able to easily take it with you traveling. As with all the other Essence products I bought this to try it out and see what it does exactly. I found it to be a lovely finely milled powder that applied with ease to leave you with a soft matte finish.
It lasted not all day but with a touch here and there I managed to keep myself looking great all day. I think Essence have totally answered the prayers of the girlies that struggle with a bit of an oily skin through the day.
Although I prefer the loose powder version I have to give it to the compact. And it might be even less messier than the loose powders.
I love the fact that as with this product Essence tend to always present their products in a clear glass packaging which is super fancy and also making it so much easier when it comes to buying.

When I just started out using make up, I thought this product was God sent, but trying it again recently made me realize that there are way better powders out there. Yes, it's inexpensive but it's extremely powdery and can leave you looking as white as a ghost.

Why i call this product madness?
its imply because i have heard such great reviews about this that it was madness, madness that it made me look like i jumped in a bag of flour!!

I guess you get what you pay for here! This soaks up oil on ur face leaving you with a totally matte and dull dehydrated face! Applied over makeup it tends to make skin feel rubbery like a thick clay mask is on your face limiting movement! I felt it tends to set on your face and make foundation roll off! Probably designed for drier skins and to be worn alone! If poorly blended can create a very ashen appearance!

This is loose fixing powder for that matt look. You can apply it after applying your make up - which I personally wouldn't recommend because the powder is white as snow, and without proper blending, could leave your skin looking ghostly, and destroy your already flawless make up.
It is great to apply after applying foundation, provided you blend it in properly where it is needed. You might get a thick feeling on the skin, and it tends to rub your foundation off in the process. Not too great.
