I am on my third tube, started using it on my chapped lips in winter and I have since used it in more ways than one. It's a great cuticle cream It soothes insect bites and I also use it on my eyelids and cheeks to add an extra sheen and shimmer glow to my makeup

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Skin Protectant is a complete miracle cream, I absolutely love it. This cream can be used for just about EVERYTHING.
I had a really bad, very uncomfortable writers callus which just wouldn't go away no matter what I tried, I decided to try the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Protectant which I applied directly on the callus and then wrapped a plaster around the area of my finger, the next morning the callus was much softer so I repeated the procedure for a few more days and then filed the callus for just a few minutes and VOILA... the callus was completely gone and hasn't returned for months now.
I've also tried using it for chapped lips, insect bites, boils, rashes... you name it and it works like a bomb!!! I've tried it on burns caused by my GHD too.
And whilst it is really effective, it is not harsh it's gentle enough to be used on babies so I tried using it on my sons bottom for diaper rash and it helped clear it up. I now use it on any cuts or abrasions he gets as well as on his insect bites and sun burn patches he often gets on his shoulders.
It is however quite oily and hard to wash out of clothes so be careful not to get it on your clothes.
I think this product is a must have in every woman's hand bag and any family first aid kit!!!
I Love love this product, For years I have been using since 2005 while working for Elizabeth Arden, I mostly use it on my lips and it's also good for sun burn, skin irritations,cracked lips and so on. I used it on my children as well. I am very pleased with it and will continue using it as always. I also incorporate it to my night routine and will apply it on my face not always though and usually I just apply a small amount as it's very oily and will alternate it with my night cream. Got this tip from the customers of Arden while was working there. Till today I do that and it works well with my skin. so for me it's a Multi-Purpose product. If ever there was a miracle product, that has been around for SO many years, its this one! This is one of the best products I have in my body/face beauty collection. You can use this product for anything and everything. Its great for nourishing dry skin, you can use it on your hands, faces, body, lips.... ANYWHERE. Its literally a ALL-IN-ONE miracle fix. I love to use it on my lips, as a lip treatment and at times on blemishes or stubborn breakouts.
The beauty of the product is also that men can also use it... It applies smoothly, treats problem areas like chapped dry lips, breakouts, blemishes and it gets rid of them quickly. A little goes a long way with this product, I have had mine for over a year now, and its STILL no where near finished. Its a cult beauty product -very thick, intensely moisturising and good for your money.
Been using this product for just over a year and im smitten, the oily look it leaves on after applying is something im used to now, i just put my makeup on after applying it and since i have combination skin, it keeps my skin supple and moisturized all the time, especially during winter. I keep 1 tube in my handbag and 1 in my bathrooom, love this product and really cant remeber the last time i complined about zits.
No doubt a 5/5 on all factors. I've been using this product for close to 10 years now and cannot go a day without it. I rated the price so high because a tube lasts for such a long time so spending over R200 is nothing. I prefer to use the fragrance free on my face (eye area, nose, lips) and the original version for the rest of my body and hair.
I love this stuff - I read about it many years ago in the cosmo and ive been using it since then , on my lips, and to tame my eyebrows, and even when I have dry skin on my arms, its a great product to have in your handbag - but the smell takes some getting used to :)
I was having endless problems with chapped lips for month last year when I finally decided I had had enough. I went out and got this and I was left in awe with how quickly and effectively it sorted my lip issues out.
I have to say though, the scent isn't great but for the absolute magic it works, I can deal with that. It has a number of wonderful uses including fixing up dry elbows and knees in winter. It also has a soothing effect that helps when your dry skin develops and itchy quality or your lips basically burn from chapping.
I love it now and I will forever. Yay Elizabeth Arden!

This hot little item deserves a golden award for its fabulousness!!! It's amazing in every way and has so many uses. It has magical powers that repair your skin for eight hours! Like a overnight facial! And can be used on the whole body. Works wonders for winter skin and a pick my up for tired over stressed facial skin that gives a healthy glow! Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream was a miracle product for me, i was on reaccutan which causes severe dry, cracked lips and in certain areas my skin was extremly dry. I had tried so many products to hydrate my lips and skin and nothing worked until my mom introduced me to Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. The texture of the cream is very thick yet i was still willing to try it. Complete miracle, within a few days my lips had healed, no more dry areas. This product tends to hydrate and moisture even in the toughest circumstances. I always will continue to have a tube of this. Awesome product!
When I first sampled this some time back, I didn't like it. Please don't get me wrong, I am referring more to the texture than anything else... Because the formula is so thick, It made me feel sort of claustrophobic when I had it on my skin...
So when I received this, I just thought to myself, it has amazing reviews, i just need to get over myself and try it. The safest place and time to give it a go would be on my feet at bed time.
So I applied the 8 hour cream to my footsies, wrapped them up in my fav snuggle socks and off to sleep I went (In all honesty in the middle of the night I had numerous urges to take off my socks and wash my feet - i'm weird, i know hehe)
I can truly say that I am uber happy i stuck in there!! My feet were left amazingly soft to the touch, the dryness of my heels seemed like it was never there in the first place, and my skin looked beautiful and glowing!
I am now a convert... I'll try and give it a go on my hands, and I read on 1 review that it makes an awesome lip balm which I will try as well. Im really happy I tried this :)

I am in love with this Elizabeth Arden product. I bought this online at Red Square recently and this weekend I decided to give it a dry after my shower.
I squeezed a bit of it and literally a blob came out of the tube. It was a really think cream and I was pretty hesitant about using it after my shower.
With previous attempts at using thick cream after a shower, I learnt my lesson because it really does not absorb into your skin. It instead just lies there.
With this Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour body treatment Cream it was completely different. It absorbed really really quickly into my skin and the best part is that it did not leave my skin oily and greasy. I could actually put on a pair of jeans easily without having to fight with them LOL
The cream was thick, but once applied to your skin, it practically vanishes. I dont know what everyone below is talking about, because I actually enjoyed the scent of this. I'm going to just assume that they are talking about the skin protectant and not the cream. The scent is not really herbally, but more like a fruity scent I think. It is not overpowering at all and I quite like it. It is different from other body creams, but this different is a good different.
Rather pricey though, but worth every rand spent! I will continue to purchase once I run out.
I ahve recently rediscovered Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream and have to say I don't know why I stopped using it. My 2 year old son cuts teeth by getting a terrible rash that he scratches and then it scars. I have tried everything to help with the scarring and nothing helped. Then I thought if the 8 hour Cream helped me when I burnt myself then surely it will help with his scarring. So I committed to a 4 week challenge. Every morning and evening I would apply the crean to his legs. We are in week 4 now and there has been significant lightening of the scars and it helped with clearing the rash aswell. The first time i used 8 hour cream was in University. a friend offered me some in a worn tube to use on my lips her words "you will never look back". Indeed she was right, I too became a tube carrying girl leaving my stick lip balm for this versatile cream. I have driven around jo'burg to try and obtain the retro tin when it came out, they were all sold out just proof of how popular it is. Once I went into the working world I decided to get the 8hr lip colour. Tried and tested and never failed me for over 6 years, 8hr Protectant is the Real Makhoya.
Oh wow! I just love this cream.....given to me by a dear friend because I needed something to put on my lips, since it felt so dry. And rather hesitant, after begging mind you, she agreed to give me just a dash. And was I hooked the moment it touched my lips. It wasn't greasy like all the other lip balms, not that this was a lip balm, but amazingly we discovered, we could use it for our lips too!! Not just for your body, like marks or scars.....by the way, it realy works!
It works faster/quicker than all the other creams I've used to help remove stretch marks/scars. Ever since I started using this Eight hour Cream, I no longer get cold sores, cracked or dry lips. My lips actually looks like its getting renewed....you know, almost better than the day before I started smoking.....all I can say is wow, wow, wow!!! ILll say it everyday!!! This really works and with quick results too.....I now use it for my whole family, from my kids to my husband, to my neighbours kid as well, lol!!! This is amazing for skin. It leaves skin soft and smooth and saves skin from the harsh winter. I love the way my skin feels after using this product. My skin feels like it has an amazing "lift" and feels so much more radiant and stronger.
This product is a lifesaver which lives in my handbag, I really don't know what I would do without it. I've used it for everything from: Burns Bruises Allergic reactions Bites Dry skin on elbows Cracked heels Chapped lips
And I've used it as regular moisturiser during winter. It's so amazing and helps everything I could possibly need it for. The scent can be a slight killer, but can be ignored. I would really recommend you give this product a try because it has wonders. I would swear by this miracle cream.
I really do believe in this product! Been using it for a few years now. Personally, I dont like the Fragrance free one, I prefer the Fragranced one. But it last so long, and works like heaven on dry skin, lips etc!! One of my must have products!!!
I really adore this moisturiser even though it it so expensive. It has a waxy texture that can easily fight any dry skin condition on this planet. A little does go a long way and the bonus is that it is fragrance free so it is unlikely to cause any allergy.
Im so glad they have a fragrance free version! This is a must for dry winter skin or sunburnt summer skin. I think the amount you get for the price is totally worth it. Especially because it is thick and you dont need that much
Other than this product being a little pricey, it is worth every cent. I'm not sure if it really lasts for eight hours, but it does last long. It leaves your skin feeling hydrated and silky smooth without the oily feel that some creams have. Perfect for cracked and/ or dried skin, especially in winter. It does still have a bit of a scent to it, but it isn't unpleasant and it quickly wears off.
This is miracle cream! best skin care product on the market by far with so many other uses as well- I actually had my hairdresser use it in my hair to prevent frizz! amazing stuff
I tried the new fragrance free version of the original Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant last week… still the same colour, texture and result, but without the original unpleasant scent and taste. Yeah!!
I have had the same tube of this for the last 5 years. I use it for everything, as a lip balm, around my nose when I get sick and blow my nose a lot, to tame flyaway hairs, on dry elbows, and sometimes as a cuticle cream too! It's a miracle cream and sometimes when my skin is looking a little dull I even rub a little between my hands and dab it on my face before putting my makeup on and my skin glows beautifully!
Very excited that they've brought out an unscented one though because the smell is quite strong, especially if you're not used to it.
The temperature is dropping again and my skin tells me it's time to hook-up with my trusted freind again. I love the fact that you can use it on literally "EVERYTHING" and it is miracle-moisturising-cream-potion! Ladies, this is something that you afford to be without! Use it once and you'll love it forever! It's also a great lipgloss! I love using it in winter because it is so nourishing to my skin!
This is a must have now for me and my family, I take it whereever we go and use it on myself, daughter even hubby and baby! I think it is worth it and is oh so pure to use, you just know you getting the best moisture into your skin when using this as you can feel it hours after having used it.
I never use to believe the hype around the so called "miracle" cream. All the fuss over it and customer testimonials all seemed too good to be true and I have always been far too reluctant to buy it. Then I received a little sample of the Elizabeth Arden Eight hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturiser for face in one of my Glamboxes and was really impressed by it. It was a small sample that lasted only a week, but within that week I really saw an improvement in my skin. I then decided to get my hands on the product that started it all off – the Eight hour Cream Skin Protectant.
This product is absolutely amazing when it comes to moisturinsing. I have yet to use a product that is as effective as this. It really penetrates the skin and I definitely feel that it not only moisturises the top layers of skin but the bottom layers as well. Besides the usual use of moisturising, it can also me used to sooth and heal chapped and sensitive skin. I've used this on rashes, dry skin, sunburn and also as a full face moisturiser once a week. This product is also incredibly good at treating scars and stretchmarks.
As a face moisturiser, I find it gives me a deep moisturise that I can feel in my skin even after washing it. I apply it at night, because it is very oily and glossy but by the morning it is completely absorbed and my skin looks and feels thoroughly moisturised and healthy. It even gives my skin a beautiful soft glow that I really love. My skin feels incredibly smooth and soft to the extent that after the first time I tried it as a deep moisturiser I couldn’t stop touching my skin. It seems unreal to me and I still struggled to believe that it had worked so well.
I often use this on my lips and cuticles. Just the other day I somehow managed to slightly rip the skin away from my thumb's nail bed - which was VERY painful! I applied the cream and the next morning there was a dramatic improvement in the skin and the pain was almost completely gone.
I have heard that all makeup artists have this in their makeup bag for highlighting cheekbones and as a gloss on lips and eyelids. Apparently it is even used to keep eyebrows in place. I can appreciate those uses and attest to how well it works on lips and for moisturing cheeks in winter – but to me the best thing about this product and the thing that draws me to it, is that it is so versatile. I have used it for so many skin treatments that I’ve actually lost count and it would be time consuming to write them all out (Cuts, bruises, rashes, dryness, etc). Basically if it’s skin related, this product can be used.
I understand why it’s so highly regarded and this has truly become a product staple that I will ALWAYS have close at hand.
