With relaxing my hair I always need to make sure I feed my hair enough goodness, and with the shampoo & conditioner I use, plus this treatment - my hair truly is getting all it needs. One might feel that after the first use, there is no difference, but there sure is after around about the second time one uses it. I did feel a difference as my hair was softer and it also wasn't so prone to breaking. when I detangled my hair while it was wet, that crackly sound was GONE. This one is a good one for us girls out there who relax our hair. PLUS, my mom used this on my hair when I was little which helped keep it strong and thick, so theres even more evidence haha.

I relax my hair regularly and that can sometime cause hair breakage and hair damage, with Dark and Lovely Cholesterol Hair Mask my hair is always protected, soft and it helps KEEP soft and manageable.

I had such high hopes for this one. Alas, they can't all be winners. The price is decent but the formula did nothing very special for my naturally curly 3B hair. I suppose it's a lesson, rather pay R25 a pop for some Dr Miracles Deep Conditioner packets, especially if you're a natural hair hero. It felt quite thick, was almost tacky once in my hair but after I rinsed there were no lasting effects nor any visible curl-defining/ hair shining magic. Leave this one for those on the creamy crack girls ;)

The Dark and Lovely Ultra-Cholesterol Conditioning Mask intensely nourishes very damaged hair. This was my Holy Grail product during the time I had relaxed hair. It did an awesome job, every time, to revive my chemically treated hair. It always left my hair feeling healthy, silky and smooth. The jar goes a long way.

During the period when I was relaxing my hair, This product was a gem. I felt a significant difference especially in my scalp. It is soothing and my hair felt soft and manageable. It is great for split ends as well. But now that I've transitioned to natural, It is not as effective. I does not absorb all the way to my roots and I have to use almost double the amount on my hair.
All in all I would recommend that you only use it if you have relaxed hair and/or damaged ends. But a great product none the less.

Love, love, love the Dark and Lovely Cholesterol Hair Mask ..., Works wonders. Real value for money and delivers everything it promises and more. Leaves hair looking and feeling healthier, shinier, manageable and smelling lovely. just a drop goes a long way, so it lasts super long. Perfect for damaged or treated hair to get life back into it !

Although I don't have afro/ethnic hair I still like using this hair mask. A friend told me about this hair mask years ago and I've been using it off and on since. My hair has been looking rather dull of late and I'm all out of coconut oil so I slapped this on on Sunday and my hair feels and looks great.
This is an intensive moisture mask that is specifically for dry and very damaged hair so I wouldn't recommend this for girls with fine hair as this will probably end up weighing your hair down.
The texture is very thick and its yellow in colour, I'm not too thrilled about the fragrance though. I generally cover my hair with a shower cap and then apply heat from my hair dryer to super intensify the hair mask and the results speak for themselves. My hair is super shiny and glossy.
A 250ml tub retails for under R50 at Clicks.
