It feels very much like a moisturizer, accept for the primed feel that it leaves on your skin. It really evens out texture very well. According to the color correcting wheel, green would correct redness - this primer (I was surprised to find, is a light yellow). My skin is not problematic as such. I have a combination skin, but I do suffer from a monthly breakout :p I decided to try this with the aim of assisting with the breakout, but the lady at the clinique counter put some on half my face - and woah, it looked awesome! It really helped to brighten my face. Besides the brightening effect, it feels very smooth (it is silicone based). It smooths well, is translucent and doesn't leave any yellow tint behind.
