It helps to massage a natural oil through your scalp. There are various oils such as Shea butter, avocado oil and coconut oil.

Try switching from a shampoo to a co-wash. Shampoo tends to dry your hair out. I used TRESemmé co-wash it works!

Also try massaging coconut oil into your scalp

Im a natural just like you. Ive found not using silicones helps alot, I have type 4 c hair, so it can get dry. I dont know your type of hair, but here`s a few tips.

Steam your hair.. it puts back moisture into your hair strands, which will leave it softer.
deep condition - its a must.. put a packet on your hair if you dont have a shower cap.. and keep your conditioner on for +-/ 1 hour then rinse.. and style..
use styling pomade`s and leave in conditioners.. they wont leave your hair dry at all!

My hair is way softer and more managable now.. than when i started out 4 years ago

Hi I also have natural hair and it's 4c. Just be careful when you put oil don't leave it for long as it will create a build up of dirt on your scalp. So maybe leave it for a day or 2 and wash it off and just use products that will hydrate your scalp rather.

    Hey,

Dont use shampoos that have sulfate as this dries out hair. - I personally prefer Pantene. And alternate between shampooing your hair and co-washing your hair with just conditioner. It makes a big difference.

It also helps to deep condition your hair ( comb it out, apply conditioner, place shower cap and chill for 20+ minutes)
Many people above mentioned natural oils, BIG FACTS.

i LOVE Jamaican castor oil, its thick and i use the LOC method when i use it as it locks in moisture for long. :)

I use my grandmother's trusted concoction consisting of castor oil, and almond oil/olive oil.

First mix equal parts of castor oil and your olive/almond oil (I use olive oil) in a jar. I use an old glass pickle jar that has a lid.
I have medium length hair so two tablespoons of each is enough.
Next boil water in your kettle and then pour it into a dish.
After you have done that take your closed glass jar with the oil mixture and submerge it in this dish of boiling water.
I leave the jar submerged for +/- 3 minutes just to heat up the oil.
After the oil is warm I empty the jar out into a bowl because the jar is usually too hot to touch.
Then start by massaging the oil on your scalp then down to the tip of your hair.
This also helps your hair grow faster. I use this mixture on my eyebrows as well.
Repeat weekly or twice a week for better results.
