So I often call myself a Lazy Natural because well.. I'm lazy :D. I got really tired of the shampooing and conditioning routine and the products I was using just were not cutting so I went on a search for an all-in-one treatment for my naps.

I found out about DIY Bentonite clay masks and I was hooked instantly. I headed to dischem instantly and bought Bentonite Clay and Apple Cider Vinegar. Here's how they work:
1. Bentonite Clay is negatively charged so it sucks out and lifts impurities and toxins from your hair.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar is a great for clarifying your hair and scalp and it helps with itchiness and flakiness of the scalp (It stinks though)

Here's how I use them:
1. Grab a plastic or ceramic bowl and a wooden spoon (The Bentonite clay is negatively charged so metal spoons will NOT work)
2. Add the Bentonite clay and mix in the ACV gradually until I get the consistency I am looking for.
3. This is an optional step but sometimes I add a bit of my favourite oils (My favourite changes often). This could be sweet almond oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil etc.
4. I part my hair into four sections and I detangle it
5. Put it all up in hair (I always imagine my relaxer days when I do this step lol)
6. Leave it in for about 15 minutes (I cover my hair with a plastic bag because shower caps do not fit. I know y'all understand this struggle)
7. I wash it off THOROUGHLY (It will get a little tiring but you have to go in there)
8. When you're done, marvel at how much your hair and scalp are so clean and how soft your hair is.

I do not condition my hair after the whole process unless its a special day and I decide to whip up some conditioner.

An alternative to ACV is Aloe Vera Juice. It's just as amazing with Bentonite clay.

I hope you try it out and it does wondrous things for your hair. May your edges never dwindle, may detangling never take ages and may shrinkage never discourage you.;)

It also appears to assist in bringing out one's own natural curl pattern - not making it curl but helping curl. I am yet to play with these clays, great stuff!
