Acne scar removal?

0
Hey all :)

As most teens, I had acne in high school. Unfortunately, I now have a few craters on my face from the acne, even though I never picked at it or squeezed the problem areas.

I've tried so many skin care products, but I don't think products will be able to replace the skin that is no longer there and I have also read similar online. Are there affordable laser skin treatments or any other treatments available to remove the craters? I'm on a student budget, so it would be great to know if there is something I have missed or something I can try out.

Thank you ^_^

Perhaps try frequent exfoliation (daily) and see if that helps reduce the appearance of the craters. I would give Garnier pure active scrub a try.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi ladies

Thank you so much for all the suggestions ladies :3

tzar, I will definitely give the products a try from the websites you listed. I have tried using bio oil, but it didn't do anything for the craters :/

I don't have a major problem with pimples anymore, it's just the scars they left which I would like to get rid of.

Thanks again ladies, and I will see if I can fight these acne scars!

    Hi Girls.

So I just joined this club and not sure if this is a way to get some help. I had an accident 3years ago, left a bad scar right in the middle of my eyes, nose, forehead, it has started to dissapear but the issue now is that on top of me having acne at age 31, I seem to get even more acne where the scar is and around-Its terrible!!....not sure what to use since the pimples are on the scar.....I certainly want the acne to go away but also want something to help with the scar without the product being too harsh on the scar......do i make sence? :)

    Hey.
Acne scars are the worst having finally got rid of the acne last year this year began the war on the scars. There are two ways of getting rid of acne marks but both require the use of professional cosmo ceuticals.
The first option is professional peel done by a plastic surgeon. Home care products are super important.
The second is to buy a derma roller for home use which works by allowing products to penetrate deeper where they can actually work. Get a good quality product once off instead of trying many cheaper ones that eventually add up to more. Yllume has a great range available at red cherry online. Remember also please that cosmo ceuticals are much stronger then stuff you can buy at outlets like edgars ect and so will last you twice aslong if not longer as you use much less product to see better results.. my serums from skinceuticals cost R1800 but have lasted me over a year so that comes to less then R140 a month where the clarins I was using before cost me over R500 a month for one bottle as I had to use so much product and did not see results.

Also with both remember to add in a good anti oxident to prevent further damage and the most important is to invest in a good sunblock to protect your skin.

    I hope this helps.
I go for a peel every 6 months andhave had one done an will be going for another as soon as I have saved up for it. I do the derma roller myself once a week at home and the results are amazing. All the deep craters havefilled out and now it's just the actual marks I am still battling but slowly I can see they are also going away.

    Good luck

The laser options for scarring would be fractional laser, (so machines like fraxel or harmony are what you can google) sadly the treatments are not cheap.

I have battled with acne most of my life. I have been on Roaccutane and tried everything else imaginable. I am 32 years old and have been using Retacnyl (Retin A based product) for the last couple years. This works on pimples as well as scarring. I can definitely vouch for it. It works wonders, albeit a little drying.

You do need to have a prescription for it but the tube will last you months. You only use it at night as sun and Retin-A are not friends. You dab a tiny amount on scars and blemishes and leave it. I cannot tell you the difference it's made. I had a huge issue with breakouts on my lower mandible after 30 and it scarred my neck terribly. After using Retacnyl, the area is just about scar free.

Chat to your dermatologist about it. Even though it is something that you will probably have to use for the rest of your adult life, having clear skin does wonders for your self esteem.

Doing surface treatments may improve the surface of your skin but it can't fill the pick dents that are left by the absence of tissue at the deeper levels of your skin. Roacutane works on drying out the oil in the skin thus reducing acne. Roacutaine has some serious side effects so do read up on them and consider if you would like to try it. It will also shed the top layers of your skin drastically which will lead to a smoother surface. The dents will show a slight improvement. Another option is to look into sub dermal collagen fillers/ stimulators. The 'vampire facial' may be an option for you. Also you can have the deeper dents filled with collagen at an Aesthetic facility. It is not cheap but it will give you the best result.

Hey... I suffered acne for nine years straight, it left my skin inflammed, red and full of acne marks. Until one day I browsed the internet and stumpled upon an indian blog and make up site and there was a natural remedy for acne & acne marks. I am a lover of natural and organic products, I have found they work better for me because my skin is extremely sensitive to most products. Here is the remedy; 1tsp green tea (the contents in the bag) 1tsp calamaine lotion and apple cider vineagar, & 2 tsp honey. Always keep refridgerated and apply to clean fresh washed face, leave for 25-30min, repeat three times a week to see effective results. Hope this works for you :D
