The Wonderful World of Vichy

The Wonderful World of Vichy

I recently visited my Vichy counter at Dischem and was pleasantly surprised with a bag full of goodies ...... from Vichy....on my birthday no less.

The bag contained sample versions of the Vichy Liftactiv (quite the hype has been created around this product) for face, eyes and lashes, awakening eye balms, sensitive skin day cream, SPF 50 sunblock and some BB creams. I will review each of these briefly below. I also have a Vichy Night cream sent to me by Beauty Bulletin in December which I used in conjunction with the above products.

Let's get LIFTED with Vichy LiftAct

A total of 4 samples was ready for review and I will post the results later in this blog. What a lovely product!. At first, I was a bit skeptical to try a new type of anti-ageing product because I was scared of my skin developing an allergic reaction of some kind. But, not Vichy! This French brand has lived up to it's name by providing a long lasting, wrinkle-smoothing effect on my skin. I found the product both stimulating and fast absorbing and preferred to use it only at night as my samples were quite limited.

The cream is in a white fluid form, with virtually no scent and I found it quite pleasant to apply in small circular movements. I targeted mainly my forehead hands. After a week, I could see a visible difference in both areas; the fine lines were less visible and skin felt softer and looked more radiant.

Together with the Vichy treatment, I used the Vichy Night Cream. Its called the Vichy Idelia skin sleep and apparently excellent for helping skin sleep and recover from stress. I used this regularly when I have insomnia. It smells great and the following day, skin looks well rested and full of life. It's pinkish contents does not leave any residue on the skin and keeps dryness at bay. This is a very good product and I ensure I apply a generous amount to my skin. Been using this for over a month now; no tired-looking skin for me anymore!

The Vichy BB creams and Sunblock

My experience with these products did not go down so well. The sunblock left my skin sticky, with a residue and the BB creams did not agree with the texture of my skin at all. In fact, immediately after I applied it, it formed crumbles and started peeling from my skin. A nasty experience indeed. I would not buy these at all.

The results speak for themselves. My skin is clearer, fresher, appears to have new life and looks great.

Thanks Vichy, I enjoy getting a lift!
