Smashbox heavenly Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder My #1 Lust

I am convinced. Smashbox has some help from Heaven! The Smashbox Halo Hydrating Powder is an ethereal product. I wonder if angels wear it?

The silky powder needs a halo!!! It truly creates a prefect canvas worn alone with a primer or dusted lightly over foundation as a finishing powder. I can be built up to sheer, medium to full coverage.

I got the shade in light/medium for my tan skin. These colours do run dark so I got a shade lighter for my tan skin.

Well it works!!!!

The powder comes in a compact with a mirror but the brilliance is in its twist mechanism, which allows you to get finely milled freshly, ground powder. This also allows you to control the amount of product you need so you don’t end up wasting the product or making a solid mess.

The texture of this product is silky and satiny and goes on smoothly.  It does not look chalky and highly pigmented powder.

Due to its hydrating properties, it does tend to oxides but as I mentioned before, try it out first and give it a few hours to settle - and if the colour changes, get a shade lighter.

It’s perfect for all skin types and doesn’t cling to dry patches. It creates the illusion of minimized pores and fine lines because it doesn’t settle into creases, lines and pores. As far as the long term benefits of reducing the signs of ageing go, I can’t say.

unlike MAC’s Magically Cool Liquid powder, it isn’t shimmery and does photograph well, it does have the same soft texture you would expect from a hydrating powder.

It comes with a cute, mini kabuki brush, which I don’t use; the bristles are a bit too stiff for my liking. I prefer using a soft dense kabuki for fuller coverage on its own.  I use a large fluffy brush to set foundation.

While it is a bit bulking to carry in your clutch, it will fit comfortably into your handbag. You will need to touch up during the day, but it wears well for at least 6 hours.

Apart from the oxidization and the price, I would definitely recommend this. It’s worth every cent spent and considering the amount of product you get and need to use, it’s really good bang for your buck.

Here are a few pics I've taken.
