Pimple 101

Pimple 101

Hi Everyone :)

This blog is dedicated to all those many sufferers of the pimple nightmare.

The pimple nightmare is when you get a pimple the day/night before the BIG event.

  • Weddings
  • Job interviews
  • Birthday Parties
  • Anniversaries

Trust me I know the feeling. The horror and panic trying to get rid of these unsightly creations, not to mention the pinching and standing in front of the mirror at least 30 times lol.

So here is my best three fast tips on how to minimize those pimples before the BIG day, and yes what you are about to read in some parts is rather strange but it does work, and most the products we have at home  :)

Before trying out a quick fix make sure you cleanse and exfoliate your skin properly. Do not be abrasive on the pimple as it is only going to pain if you do.

Start of by soaking a face cloth in hot water. Wring it out and place over your face, applying some pressure. The hot steam from the face cloth brings all the matter to the surface, where it can be targeted easier. Alternatively if you have a home steamer, steam for 5 minutes.

You can use either one only:

  • Toothpaste over the pimple. This has astringent properties and actually dries up the pimple.
  • Eye Drops (I used eye-gene eye drops). Take a cotton bud and apply 2-3 drops on it, and dab in circular motion over the pimple. This also helps to dry up the pimple.
  • If you don't mind getting sticky, apply some honey over the pimple and allow for it to dry.

These quick fixes are best done at night and allowed to dry overnight.

In the morning, after a cleanse, your pimples will be rapidly diminished. Just apply some concealer over the diminished bump and blend in with foundation. Problem solved.

Some other helpful tips for pimples:

  • Use tea tree oil. Its excellent as it has anti bacterial properties which counteract your pimple. Mix a small amount of this oil with an equal amount of water and apply with cotton bud/swab
  • Always drink lots of water as that flushes away all the toxins in the body.
  • Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Be kind to your skin, heart and body xx
  • Exercise. Most pimples are caused through stress and a walk/run does wonders to get rid of stress.
  • Don't overdo the makeup and be sure to make use of make up removers.
  • Dab a little lemon juice over the pimple, as this draws out any excess oil. Make sure to remove before going out in the sun.
  • Make ice cubes out of green tea. Apply the cube over the blemish area 2-3 times a day. Skin is smoother and less swollen.
