One Brand Foundation Routine - M.A.C. (Part 2)

One Brand Foundation Routine - M.A.C. (Part 2)

Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Lumiére - R555.00 for 50ml (Radiant Yellow)

Matchmaster SPF15 Foundation - R505.00 for 35ml (Shade 2)

Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - R465.00 for 10g (Light Plus)

Studio Fix Perfecting Powder - R355 for 8g (Light Plus)

1 Pump of primer is all you need.  I apply it to my t-zone and work my way to the parameter of my face.  It is supposed to cancel out redness, but I don't really pick up on that.  It does however give luminosity to the skin, because it has micro-fine shimmer particles.  It also hydrates while controlling oil and you can feel that it is hydrating when you apply it.  It does not have that silicone slip to it and it remains quite tacky - which is great for the foundation application.  I use about 3 pumps of the foundation and only achieve a medium coverage.  This foundation is not really build-able in my opinion and it has a technology that allows for your own skin to peek through, thereby enabling the foundation to match your skin tone.  I agree with this - you can definitely get away with 1 shade darker / lighter than your actual shade.  WARNING:  When you work the product onto your skin, it kind of seems like it is not blending properly.  You do see little specks of your own skin, but this must be the technology, because as soon as you apply powder and setting spray it looks beautiful!  I like to set my foundation with a light layer of mattifying powder as well as a light layer of illuminating powder to bring back some normalism to my skin.  The Studio Fix powder is really nice, because it has a sifter for usage control and the powder is micro-fine.  It does not look caked on and adds a bit of coverage.  The Mineralize Skinfinish is a cult favourite and I do not need to elaborate too much.  It does not add extra coverage, but is definitely the cherry on the cake in terms of leaving a gorgeous finish on the skin.

At the 3 hour mark, my complexion looks fantastic.  Comfortably matte, no shine & no breakup.

At the 5 hour mark, I am starting to show a little glow and my pores are more visible (a pore filling primer does help to make them less obvious).  Still no breakup though.

At the 8 hour mark, I am a little too glowy for my liking.  However, I am pretty impressed that there is still no breakup.

Supposedly, this foundation is meant to control oil.  I really don't support that claim.  I do agree on the whole shade matching technology.  I also find it to be pretty long lasting, baring in mind that you will need to touch up, but it does not breakup and this is why I will continue to purchase it.  After touch up, it does reset and look pretty good still.  I would love to hear your thoughts & tips on how to maximize oil control by incorporating other products.

Props to my M.A.C lippie WHIRL, because she stayed with me all day.

As always, I am very thankful that you took the time to read my post and remember:  Beauty is not flawless, but it shines through your flaws!
