Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin Challenge Week Two

Kiehl's #ChangeYourSkin Challenge Week Two

This was a tough week for me skin-wise as for some reason I took one step forwards and two steps backwards with my breakouts. They were worse especially around my neck and jawline, but I had a few on my cheeks just as the pigmentation marks from past breakouts were starting to fade nicely. So far I've found the Kiehl's serums fit in well with my current skincare routine and skin condition, as they are light, quickly absorbed and don't exacerbate my breakouts. I still think my breakouts are hormonal, in which case it's just a waiting game till the pill I'm on kicks in.

During the first week I could feel a big difference after incorporating these products into my routine. This week has been quite stable with no dramatic improvements. I continue to see the benefit of the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum smoothing out fine lines and banishing any dry patches. I think the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution is starting to work as well, but it's difficult to measure the improvements when I keep breaking out and adding to the marks I want to fade.

I'm still happy with the improved texture and evenness of my skin. The products have also stopped stinging or tingling completely as my skin is no longer dehydrated. I've also noticed that my skin is much less oily and feels more balanced. I don't have to continuously powder my nose!

The one difference this week is that I've been a bit more careful with where I use the Midnight Recovery Concentrate because it contains squalene, which is something you want to avoid if you are acne-prone. For a few nights this week I only used this serum on my upper cheeks and forehead and kept it away from my lower cheeks and jaw area until I stopped waking up with new blemishes. Next week I will go back to using this all over my face again and report back in week three.
