Pantene Pro-V Repair and Protect Review
So let's start off with the look and design of the Pantene bottles. They're really very pretty, off-white and blue bottles, with gold through it, everybody knows a girl has to have pretty products, ugly bottles are just not on! Moving onto the design, they're this new type of flip top, really convenient, and super easy to open with one hand in the shower. The treatment works especially well, the flip top is quite wide and easy to access as well as close with your elbow (for example, not like I actually did that... Um...) if your hands are full of treatment.
The shampoo itself builds up a fantastic lather, you really don't need much to cover all your hair. I have hair just passed my shoulder blades and I don't need much more than a teaspoon to work up a really good foam. The conditioner is a really thick, creamy consistency and also coats the hair with a very small amount used. And the treatment is also very thick and creamy and it just smells gorgeous. I'm obsessed with the smell of products so it does it for me! It's not greasy in the slightest when it goes onto your hair, just really rich and creamy. It washes out fairly easily, leaving a very smooth and yet still not greasy feeling like most treatments I've used.
After the first wash I definitely felt a difference, my hair was lighter and just much smoother. After a couple more washes, you could see and feel the difference. I didn't have to straighten my hair as much, as all the wayward strands seemed to just smooth into the rest of my hair and I didn't have my usual puffed up Afro of hair. I generally straighten my ends inward so they don't look as bad, but the treatment seemed to be doing that work for me. No treatment will ever banish split ends forever, but this treatment did a great job of smoothing them down and repairing them.
After a week of using it, I started getting compliments on how smooth and glossy my hair was (success!), and I realised that I could go up to 3 days without washing my hair and still have relatively clean hair, as evident in these photos below. This was incredible, going from washing everyday to being able to go the usual two days without washing. I also have a picture of my ends. Please note, these photos are with no straightening! My hair is smooth and manageable without my trusty straightener.
Good news, if you're looking to buy the Pantene Repair and Protect range, it's available pretty much anywhere, Pick n Pay, Clicks, Dischem, etc. It's affordable, at around R66.95 for the 200ml deep repair mask (which you use tiny amounts of and should last you at least a month), R34.99 for your 250 ml shampoo and 200ml conditioner (each).
This product is for you if you have damaged, unruly hair that needs taming or if you're just looking for an excellent product that smells great and comes from a reputable company that knows everything there is to know about hair!
