Estee Lauder recently released their liquid lip potion after collaborating with Kendall Jenner. Although they were late to the liquid lipstick party, Estee Lauder surely took center stage with their elegantly designed bottle.  The following blog post is not a thorough review of this product but more of a first impressions.

According to Estee Lauder, they claim that, "this innovative liquid lipstick hybrid plumps with continuous moisture. Saturates with high-intensity colour, without sticky shine. Lips look pouty, sculpted, sexy." With that description, who wouldn't want to run to their counter and purchase it right?

There are ten shades in the lip potion range which includes some pinks, reds, and nudes. The lip potions come in a 10 ml rectangular tube which has a double sided doe applicator, and applies a satin-matte product.

I decided to try their lip potion at a promo stand. I picked the colour Bitter sweet which was a nude colour with a hint of red. I guess kind of a brick colour. It felt creamy as the consultant applied it. It applied evenly and smoothly. It felt very comfortable on my lips. When I saw the colour, I was blown away. It is such a beautiful shade and I loved that it matched my complexion because I usually find nudes that are too light and that end up giving me a washed off look. The pigmentation on this product is amazing! I guess this is because Estee Lauder did not hold back in using high quality ingredients to make a product of this standard.

After a few hours I went to get some coffee. When I had my first sip of that warm caffeinated cup of heaven I saw that there was a lot of transfer of my lip potion onto my cup. Personally, I am not a fan of colour transfer and making the infamous lips mark on a cup. I guess this is how Estee Lauder insures that their product doesn't dry out on your lips. Their product is so creamy that it stays moist (which they claim will do so for up to 8 hours). If I were to try this again I think dabbing it with some translucent powder might set help set it in place to avoid any transfer.

Estee Lauder's pure colour envy liquid lip potion retails for R295.00 online and at your nearest Estee Lauder counter.
