Slimming down is always a challenge, and it sometimes might look like nothing we try has an effect. As much as we would like to have a magic wand that takes kilograms off, it is not possible to lose weight instantly due to our body's need for energy stacks. The body stores unused energy sources in form of fat in case it needs it. But it is important to know that the body uses glucose and protein for energy before fat, which is why fat is so stubborn. So, not taking any food won't help you lose weight as much as it will make you unhealthy. For healthier slimming effects, try some of this tips.

Change your sleep cycle

Your body burns most calories in two conditions – during workout and during sleep. An eight-hour-long sleep period can burn as many calories as half an hour of exercise. During sleep, your metabolism gets faster and gets rid of unnecessary waste. In order for your night metabolism to work as best as possible, there are a few rules you should follow. Firstly, go to sleep before midnight. After midnight is when your metabolism is most active. Secondly, sleep for at least seven hours. During sleep, your digestion works best, so make sure you use the most of it. Finally, don't eat at least half an hour before going to bed. Your stomach doesn't need more work because it is already preparing for secondary digestion.

Avoid white food

Sugar, salt, bread and fat aren't named "the four white deaths" for no reason. Foods that contain any of these most likely aren't good for your health or your body weight. The best thing you can do is just remove them from your regular diet. Make sure you take it one step at a time, because cutting out everything at once can be a shock to your system. Start with sugar because it is the most addictive one. Without sugary foods, you will see slimming results in just a couple of days. You don't have to cut out everything sweet, but make sure you dispose of complex carbohydrates. Bread should be next in line because it is not needed as an energy source anyhow. Finally, salt and fat don't cause further weight gain if consumed in foods which already contain it, but make sure you don't add additional salt or trans-fats.

Dietary supplements

Sometimes your body needs a little boost to start working as efficiently as possible. If your fat supplies are really stubborn, you should consider combining your diet with weight loss pills. There are several types of these pills based on different organic or artificial medicine that can be equally effective, but before you start taking pills, do a thorough search on them. Look for other people's experiences and think about possible side effects. You can also use vitamin and protein supplements in your diet, but for these, you should contact a nutritionist and do a blood check to see what substances you lack. Having too much of a good thing can be bad, too.

At least half an hour of daily physical activity

With a change of sleep habits and a healthy diet, physical activity is next in line for best results in fast weight loss. If you haven't been physically active in a while, don't start off too extreme. A daily fast walk can be good to begin with, but with a small addition every day. Then, start walking faster and faster until you feel good enough to start running. Getting back in shape isn't easy, but if you start slowly and gradually increase your workout tempo, you will see results in no time.

Counting calories can be a good way for you to keep your diet in order, but don't forget that calories aren't the only criteria for weight loss. Calories give you energy and if you cut down on calorie intake, there is a chance that you will feel weak and tired most of the time. In order to prevent this, organize your diet by choosing food which is rich in calories but nutritive, too. Eggs, for example, have the best nutritive value because each part of them is used up by your body. Slimming down doesn't have to be unhealthy, but for the best results, it needs careful planning and thorough research.
