Clinique Chubby Stick for Eyes Launch Review

Clinique Chubby Stick for Eyes Launch Review

Last week, I was invited to attend an event, as part of Beauty Bulletin, for the new launch of Clinique Chubby Stick for eyes. The very popular Chubby Stick for lips was launched last year, and this new product is especially for your eyes and is very easy to use, to give them a great look.

The event was held at Edgars at Eastgate at the Clinique counter. Now, I don’t know about you, but I always drool whenever I walk past their counter. I like Clinique because it is designed specifically for sensitive skin and is allergen tested. I have super-sensitive eyes, due to the fact that I wear contacts every day, so I was keen to try an eye product that would definitely not give me any trouble with my eyes.

On arrival, we got to sit down at the Clinique counter and play with anything and everythung that we wanted to. Can you believe that!? That’s like a playground for me! Clinique has also just launched their new, enamel-based nail polishes in some really pretty and girly colours, so I immediately went for that and painted all of my nails different shades

I can't paint nails to save my life

Before talking to us about the Chubby Stick, the lovely Clinique ladies walked us through a good skin regime to prepare our skin for winter. We each took the “Tape Test”- they put a piece of tape on your hand and after 30 seconds remove it and place it on the mirror-and you get to see all the yuckiness that lives on top of your skin every day. As there were only two of us per table, we all got a very personal treatment, and it was very helpful to get some tips for the cold and dry winter months.

Now onto the Chubby Stick: It is like a fun crayon for your eyes. It comes in 12 different shades. The ones I really liked were

1. Bountiful beige- A very neutral colour, perfect for a day look.

2. Fuller Fudge- An intense brown that works nicely for a brown smokey eye.

3. Whooping Willow- A neutral brown that you could just roll on in the morning for a look for work.

4. Massive Midnight- A very rich blue, that I liked the best. It suits me and my blue eyes, and that was the look that I worked with that night (see below)

5. Mighty Moss- A shimmery green colour. I’ve never tried green before so I was excited to see how it would work out.

Chubby Sticks galore

At first I wanted to go with the Fuller Fudge-I like brown on me, and it is easy to apply and it is a safe choice. However, the expert decided to take me out of my comfort zone and used the dark blue. I loved it! I can’t believe I’ve stayed away from this shade for so long. I was always afraid of dark blue, because the couple of times I’ve tried it, I looked like I had two huge bruises on my eyelid (awkward). But, with applying the blue to the top of my eyelid and a shimmery white in the middle, I can see that it actually looks very nice!

The bonus of the event was that we all received a little Clinique gift, and we got to choose the Chubby Stick that we liked best for ourselves to review! I chose the Massive Midnight and can’t wait for it to be delivered so I can start playing around with it. I will have a review of my look coming soon! :)
