Catrice makeup look – Breast cancer awareness

Hello there ladies and gents, how are you? Hope you're all very very well :) It feels like I've not posted a makeup look in ages, but I actually did a makeup look tutorial the other day, weird!! Anyways I have another look for you, only this time it is in the form of a blog post and pictures.

I was kindly sent some gorgeous Catrice makeup goodies at the beginning of the month in honor of breast cancer awareness and I've been meaning to chat about them, so today I thought I'd do a small review and look for you on the products I received.

Before I get stuck in, with regards to breast cancer awareness and what this month is actually all about, I thought I'd give you guys some basic stats I found on breast cancer and why it is so dam important to be aware of this awful decease!

  • One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
  • Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.
  • Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women.
  • Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.
  • Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,150 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 410 will die each year.
I myself have not been tested and this year, before it ends, I am going to make sure I do! It does seem a little scary and I'm not entirely sure what to expect, but I know it is so important and should without a doubt not be looked over. Even though this post is about makeup and products, nothing life changing really, I hope it just reminds you to go get checked for breast cancer and rather be safe than sorry, if that is all I achieve with this post then I will be elated!

As this month and breast cancer awareness is celebrated with the color pink it was only fitting that Catrice sent me some gorgeous pink products.

For the eyes I used this rounded, compact trio. They are definitely more on the purple side, like a plummy violet, but still beautiful of course. I used the lightest shade on the inner half of my lid and the darker two shades on the outer corners.

These colors are beautiful, but one thing I must admit is I am not a fan of the dome shaped shadow. I find it gets all over the place and leaves a messy after math, but other than that, they are still stunning!

For the cheeks I used this luscious cheek blush and I was especially excited about this, as it is the first blush I have ever owned with a slight shimmer in it. Crazy I know!!

What I like about it, is that it's not overly pigmented, you really need to work your brush into it to get some product on the brush. So you have more control over whats going onto the cheeks, rather than other blushers were they are so overly pigmented you end up looking like a doll!

Then I'm sure you guys know by now, but I am a SUCKER for highlighters, I mean who isn't! I used this on the tops of my checks, just under the brows, nose, foreheads, cupids bow and chin. Yes that seems extreme, but you'll see later at how naturally and "glowy" I look :)

What I really enjoy about this highlight is the stick/ brush application. It really works beautifully and has the slightest pink hue. It does have quite a strong scent and it is so familiar, but I still haven't quite put my finger on it! Anyways the scent goes away about two seconds after application so its no worry really :)

Then of course for the lips I applied a velvety pink lipstick and silky gloss over top. This just brought the entire look together and I think really screamed feminine!

The gloss has definitely got to be my favorite, I love the color for one and more importantly the texture. I can't stand when lip glosses are tacky and string across your mouth as you talk, do you guys know what I mean? Anyways this one does not do that, and it stays put for a fair amount of time! Much like any other gloss I would say!

Finally I was sent this stunning pink polish and what can I say, its so beautiful and very complimentary to many skin types! It's a universal pink and can definitely be worn all year round! I really love it!

And to end off this post here are a couple more shots of my look.
