Body in your 20's

After High school, you go through a big emotional change into adulthood and seldom realize that our bodies and health requirements change dramatically as well. By the time you are 20, you have picked up many bad habits that can be quite difficult to get rid of.

For me, I got into the habit of eating too much junk food. Combined with a pubescent growth spurt, I now have tons of stretch marks that makes me self conscious. Being an adult, you understand why people say "I wish I knew then what I know now". If I had known that my body would change so much, i would have aided my skin with extra moisturisers and products to help my skin stretch. I have learnt my lesson and started my "prevention is better than cure" campaign in my body-care routine. I know from numerous articles as well from people I know, you really "feel" it when you hit 30.

In my 20's I am preparing for my 30's. I am preparing my body for the children I will be having and the everyday wear and tear it will go through till then. My worst fear is that I reach 30 and have to do serious damage control because I neglected my body in my 20's.

Healthy habits that I adopt in my 20's will be with me for life and when I am 80, I will thank my 20 year old self. Learn from your previous mistakes when it comes to caring for your body. Don't only think about the now, think about the future and what you can do to ensure your body is the best it can be for the future years.
