Beauty Fixes in Your Fridge

Beauty Fixes in Your Fridge

Well, today I will be writing one of the most useful Blogs on some rare beauty treatments, in my view anyway. As women, we like to maintain our grooming and cleanliness and mostly I would think we enjoy pampering ourselves! However, as much as we like to pamper and beautify ourselves, we often find it difficult to do so as the prices of products are constantly increasing while our budgets are weeping shallowly in our purses.

This is what made me think of using home products, ones that can be found in your fridges or cupboards, as a way to maintain your beauty pamper regime. I don’t know about you, but I can however say that often I have come across a home recipe for treating hair, face or skin and found it to be even more effective than the expensive products you either buy online or purchase at your favourite retailer.

Now I have also heard all about recipes being passed from generation to generation and I find that while most of them are extremely effective, many of them also take time and effort. And while back in the 18th century women had PLENTY of time, our modern women might find the recipes tedious and time consuming.

So here are a few beauty fixes I have stumbled upon and thought you might find useful.

I am quite the hair freak...and love to try new natural products that I can apply over the weekend before hitting the beach for some sundowners with the girls. So here are a few hair fixes that really don’t take that long and instantly oomph your hair and make all the girlies go “oooooooo”. Get in on the action girls!

Natural Yoghurt – 15min

Natural yoghurt contains ingredients such as protein and antibacterial properties that the hair molecules crave. Prepare yourself a hair mask by applying yoghurt to dry hair and leave on for 15 minutes. Thereafter remove and wash as per usual. You will have shiny stunning hair ready for the day!

If you haven’t already ready my blog on Treating Your Tresses, then here is one of my fav’s:

Olive Oil Hair Mask

This one I would recommend that you do over an entire weekend if you have no place to be. It is oily and requires over night application.

Take one Tbspn of olive oil and 2 Tbspn of your conditioner and heat in the micro for about 30 seconds. Place heated treatment on hair and leave in for as long as you can. The longer it’s in the better. Once you want it off you need to really shampoo your hair as it will be extremely oily. As much as this one sounds messy and time consuming, the results are phenomenal!

Here is the perfect formula for a mini facial mask! Avo softens the skin, while yoghurt enriches the skin. Lemon juice tones the skin and honey is known to moisturize and smooth contours.

Moisturizing Yoghurt and Egg Hair Treatment

While yoghurt is good just as is for your hair, you can always add some egg yolk as that adds shine and honey to moisturize and smooth your crown of hair.  You will need ½ a cup of plain yoghurt, 1 egg yolk and 1 tblsp of honey.

Mix all the ingredients together. Make sure your hair is clean and towel dried. Rub mixture into hair and scalp and leave on for approximately 25 minutes. Rinse off your hair and shampoo as you would regularly do!

Mini Facial Mask

Ingredients include: 1 tsp plain yoghurt, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp honey and 2 tblsp ripe avo. Now all you need to do is combine all the ingredients and moosh it up. Once all the ingredients are blended, nicely together, place in the fridge for approximately 30 minutes. Cleanse your face, apply and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thereafter and gently pat dry.

These are only to name a few...if you have any more to add on, they are always a pleasure to read so please do! Another great reminder is printing the recipes and pasting them onto your fridge..just in case you forget!

Enjoy these beauty treatments ladies and do tell us how yours came out!
