Babyliss Diamond ceramic wet &dry hair straightener

Babyliss Diamond ceramic wet &dry hair straightener

Even though I have my trusted GHD for several years, I still have a penchant for buying flat irons from much cheaper but reputable brands of course. So it's safe to say I have amassed quite a collection. With my hair the way it is, having spares is a must.

December of last year the babyliss Diamond ceramic straightener was going for half the price at Clicks, of course I hurried over there and to my horror a lady had already grabbed the last one on the shelf but luckily I asked a sales person to check if there were more available and as luck would have it, there was one more left!  Yayyy!

I know this brand to be quite good so I knew I was on the right track buying it. Let me tell you about it's feautures :-

1. High-density ceramic for professional use. The perfect glide and heat transfer qualities guarantee softness, shine and PROTECTION of hair.

2. Floating plates - they make gliding and handling of the iron easier by applying constant pressure on the hair without DAMAGING it.

3. Fast heat-up time thanks to the ceramic technology for perfect straightening in just one stroke.

4. Designed for use on either wet or dry hair.

5. Temperature selector -goes up too 235 degrees Celsius

6. Has a locking system to keep the plates closed.

7. Ultra long swivel chord for flexibility.

When I brought this baby home I used it immediately and firstly I was impressed at how light weight it is and by how smart the design is.  It heated up in seconds and glided through my frizzy hair, straightening it to perfection in one easy stroke! On wet hair it works just as well, but a little more effort is needed, still saves me time though. I was dumfounded because here is an iron that costs a fraction of my GHD, yet it's giving me the same result!  So I'm thinking, could the GHD be overated perhaps?

Ok so I had some concerns that I'd be left with damaged  hair, as cheap hair straightners are bound to do that, but this is a trusted brand and lives up to its claims of protecting hair. I use my babyliss hair iron quite often and I have not seen any damage, ofcourse with any heat styling we always need to use a heat protectant product.

So ladies if you are in need of a flat iron that won't break the bank, this is it!
