All about that base

All about that base

So, I seriously regret washing my hair the night before. My "thing" is washing my hair, drying it and " bunning" it up, leaving it for the next morning to do the "ironing".

Unfortunately, this morning saw Eskom pulling the plug on our electricity and, as a result, I was not able to do anything properly, which included fixing my hair and applying my make-up. With only a torch and a few candles at my disposable, I set to work applying my make up as best I could. Without  double checking to make sure that I had done a good job ( which I assumed I had as my husband didn't mention anything to me) I set off to work.

Later that morning, on a bathroom break, I happened to catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror.  I caught site of an ompa loompa staring back at me in the bathroom. I was mortified! I had become one of those "people" whom I loathed. Orange based, mask faced white necker. YUCK!!!!

Thankfully, I was able to go into damage control mode and start blending the mask out, making it less visible, however, the lesson here is to never underestimate the importance of checking your foundation in good lighting. When you are unsure, stand outside (when the sun eventually comes out) and make sure that your face and neck are well blended and are the same colour!

This public service message was brought to you by me. Check your faces ladies.
