Fail! Mac Mineralize Blush (Uplifting)

Fail! Mac Mineralize Blush (Uplifting)

Aaaah, yet another MAC collection. Honestly, while many people are beginning to tire of all these MAC collections that are being banged out, I love limited edition stuff . . .

I was very under whelmed by the MAC Lightness of Being collection because the colours weren't unique and the new shade of lipstick reminded me of of a word that has a PG rating.

But I had my eye on two things the mineralize blush in Uplifting and the Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping.

MAC describes the mineralize blush in Uplifting as “peach with bright orange marble.” It is peachy with hints of brown and orange and VERY fair amount of silver sparkles. I mean it is a frost so sparkles are sort of expected, but there’s a bit tooo much in this blush. That said, it is a very unique colour and darker skinned girls can definitely get away with using this as a highlighter but I’d rather buy a Mineralize Skinfinish.

The sparkles are not garish, like there are no chunks of glitter flying around but there’s enough fine glitter to bother me.

The texture is soft and when applied it goes on smoothly with a little bit of a gritty feel because of the sparkles.

This blush wears well about 6 hours, however, as it wears throughout the day, the sparkles become more visible as the colour fades.

Overall, I love the colour but the sparkles put me off. I will definitely use it because it is pretty shade ( I will make sure I dust the excess of and then again) but, Id is it as a highlighter because it didn’t emphasize pores despite it being so metallic.

Also, the tweed design is very pretty.

On last check, there were still both blushes in this collection (the other being Please Yourself) were available at some MAC stores. Uplifting was sold out online (date of publication). The other blush Please Yourself was available online.

None of the stores I visited had the Perfect Topping MSF, which is a shame as this would have been the star of the collection in my opinion. I did see it online and perhaps will purchase it.

If you have never tried a MAC Mineralize blush before, don’t make this your first. Try one in the permanent range instead. This isn’t a good introduction to the formula. If you are in the pageantry or theatre business or have friends in performance arts that need to stand out on stage, perhaps even the circus, this is the blush for you!

Where to buy: MAC counters and FFS nationwide

Price: R300
