I'd been slowly gathering my nerve to finally buy myself one when the opportunity to review the Avon Lip Crayons appeared. The colour crayons that I got were: Notice Me Nude, Showstopper Pink and Fresh Fuchsia. Notice Me Nude This one I liked the least, but funnily enough was the one I used the most. This was because it was barely visible on my lips. I had to re-apply it often as it was quick to fade. It is a good colour to wear everyday especially if you're aiming for a more subtle look. Showstopper Pink A showstopper alright. This bright pink colour is perfect for a girl's night or a special occasion. It was the first colour I tried and I wore it out to dinner and a music gig on Women's Day. I love it. Fresh Fuchsia I consider this a more subtle, but darker version of the showstopper pink. (Even my mother likes it). I like to wear this colour when I feel like stepping out of my comfort zone a little bit. Overall, I like the lip crayons. It helps to wear lip balm as a base so your lips don't feel so dry. I like the fact that they shimmer and I actually prefer these crayons to normal lipstick. However, I don't like the residual glitter that stays on your lips after removing the lipstick. It's very difficult to remove. Until I figure out how to effectively remove, I just pretend it doesn't exist. The price range is around R118. The colors I received were: 1. Mauve Model 2. Fresh Fuchsia 3. Reddy For Me I absolutely love love these colors as I am a medium skin tone and they compliment my skin color very well. I own many lip crayons from many brands and I have to say I am quite impressed with the quality of these lip crayons. They exceeded my expectation by far. The color pigmentation is amazing, the price you pay is amazing, color range is great, great formula and decent lasting power as well. In terms of the pigmentation and color pay off, I would rate it a 4/5. I find they glide on very smoothly and have an amazing formula and texture once on the lips. They do not irritate and feel very comfortable once on the lips. The color shown at the bottom of the stick is very true to the color you get when you apply. For the price you are paying these Lip crayons are definitely worth it. As far as staying power goes, I do find that if used without a lip liner, they tend to smudge around the lips within a few hours of wear which can look quite messy so using a lip liner would be ideal. When applied maybe after 2 hours the color will have faded, but still you will have a nice stain on the lips which still looks pretty. You may go ahead and re-apply for a fresher look but the fact that the stain remains even after several hours is a good sign that the staying power of the formula is excellent. The packaging is cute, and the ends of the crayons are colored according to the color of the stick. I like to store mine upright facing down so that I can just pick whatever color I need. It makes it very easy to select colors. In terms of color range, they have a lovely nude, coral, red, pink, mauve and brown selection so no matter what skin tone you are, you will find a nice color to compliment it. The formula itself is very sheen/shiny and sparkly. I am not such a great fan of sparkle on lips, however its nice for a change. I would have preferred if there was an option to take either sparkle or non sparkle and if they had a range of matte shades as well as many people prefer a more matte look. Overall these lip balms are worth your money and I would highly recommend getting your hands on these lip crayons.
