When I heard that the notorious Beefcakes burger bar in Green Point was hosting Essie’s 2015 media launch, I was surprised to say the least. Beefcakes is synonymous with shirtless waiters with Greek god-esque bodies and daring drag shows, while Essie is a brand synonymous with sophisticated, classic nail polish shades (their sheer pink Ballet Slippers was probably the colour of your first manicure).

I was greeted upon arrival by a trio of gorgeous muscular men, handed a pink cocktail and offered a free Essie mani. Lunch was served - featuring the greasy goodness of the likes of chili poppers, nachos and burgers - and we were introduced to the breathtaking 2015 collections. Highlights from the collection included an eye-popping range of Neons, and some pretty Cashmere Matte shades set to launch in-store later this year.

Post-lunch, we settled down to an unconventional game of bingo, marking down Essie polish names with nail polish as they were called out. Two winners walked away with a year’s worth of free gel manis and a jar filled to the brim with Essie polishes. I didn’t win, but my afternoon with Essie still goes down in history as a particularly great day at the office.

Beauty Bulletin took home a box containing the full Fall, Winter and Bridal collections. Here are some of our favourite shades…

BB Beauties, which new Essie shade caught your eye?
