Highlights From Our Kiehl’s Live Chat

EXPERT OPINION: A one-on-one with Kiehl’s

We spent an enlightening Wednesday afternoon online in the Beauty Bulletin chat room ensconced in a Q&A session with Euphony Kgadima, Kiehl’s in-house sincare expert.

Euphony – an experienced somatologist and skincare guru – dedicated two hours to addressing BB chat participants’ skincare concerns and answering questions on everything from aging to acne scarring. Euphony personalised her advice according to participants’ unique skincare issues, recommending the most effective Kiehl’s skincare product to address each skincare concern.

Don’t despair if you missed the chat, or were too busy listening to take notes, we’ve rounded up some highlights for you…

1. QUESTION from Vuyelwa:

Is 25 too early to start using anti-aging products? How does one know which products are suitable for young vs. mature skin?

EUPHONY’S ANSWER:

It is NEVER too early to start looking after your skin!

2. QUESTION from KgomotsoB:

I’ve never used Kiehl’s products before, what would you recommend for anti-aging? I am 42 years old and have an uneven skin tone and pigmentation.

EUPHONY’S ANSWER:

To address your main concern – skin tone – I recommend you try our Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution which visibly diminishes the intensity of dark spots and discolorations.

3. QUESTION from MmaQalo:

I’m on the pill to control my hormones, and assist with breakouts. I have treatments with beauty therapists, but I don’t think they’ve helped my cause. I’ve pretty much given up on my skin. Is it really possible to ditch spots for good with Kiehl’s? Not improve, not attempt to improve, but actually remove spots?

EUPHONY’S ANSWER:

First and foremost, congratulations on taking the leap to see a doctor and manage your hormones. I recommend first targeting breakouts with Kiehl’s Blue Herbal Spot Treatment.

Next, try Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate to address dry patches with deep hydration, and then Kiehl’s Highly Efficient Skin Tone Corrector with glycolic acids for pigmentation.

4. QUESTION from Mpofu:

Istarted using my Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream yesterday and experienced tingling on my forehead. Is this normal? What causes it?

EUPHONY’S ANSWER:

Kiehl’s is designed for sensitive skins using the safest ingredients, however in your case, I suggest contacting our Customer Advisory Department and asking our in-house Dermatologist to assist with your concerns.

4. QUESTION from Phantom Menace:

Euphony, please recommend a product for acne scars and large pores.

EUPHONY’S ANSWER:

For acne scarring, I recommend Kiehl’s Acne Blemish Control Daily Clearing Treatment. It contains salicylic acid, which is known to clear acne scars. That should do the trick.

5. QUESTION from Rash:

What is in the Kiehl’s range for sensitive skin addresses minor discolorations, dehydration and fine lines?

EUPHONY’S ANSWER:

I have the PERFECT solution for you! Kiehl’s Corrective Dark Spot Solution will treat your minor discolorations and diminish spots, and the activated Vitamin C will help EVEN out your skin tone. Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate will deeply hydrate your skin with small molecules of plant-based glycerine that allow for better penetration, and guarantee SMOOTHER skin. Finally, Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate will replenish your skin and make it more radiant.
