Last week I swapped the dismal Cape Town winter for the warmth and sunshine of Johannesburg.

Gallery MOMO – known for housing the best in local contemporary art – provided a sophisticated backdrop for this launch event, as Garnier SA dished on their latest ‘Even and Matte’ skincare range.

The theme of the day revolved around harnessing ‘the power of the lemon’ – a key ingredient of the new range – and fittingly, refreshment-wise us beauty insiders were treated to an assortment of lemony mini tarts and iced teas.

My personal highlight: A selfie-snapping moment with Zizo Beda, the vivacious new face of Garnier Even and Matte. The bubbly, beautiful and super-bright 26 year-old had this to say about representing Garnier’s latest innovation:

“When you’re a brand ambassador, I think its important to establish a genuine connection with the product you’ll be associated with. I’ve been using Garnier Oil Control products for 5 years, so Garnier Even and Matte was a natural progression for me.”

Before bidding farewell to Gallery MOMO we were each gifted with the entire Garnier Even and Matte range, including a Soft Smoothing Toner, Ideal Complexion daily cream, Instant Radiance Scrub – which I must confess I am most excited to try.
