An Essentially Chanel Make Over? Yes please!

We couldn’t believe our luck when we heard that Chanel is offering SA glam girls the opportunity to sample their wares! You heard right, from 22nd April to the 19th May 2015, we were invited to spend an hour at the Chanel counter being primped and pampered with some of the brands latest and greatest products.

I booked my ‘Essentially Chanel’ pamper power-hour at Edgars at the V&A Waterfront where In-house makeup artist Leon Terblanche set to work hydrating and illuminating my dry, pale complexion – hello winter! – using these miracle-working products:

1. Le Blanc Brightening Moisturising Lotion, R655

2. Hydra Beauty Micro Serum, R1255

3. Le Blanc Multi-Use Illuminating Base, R595

4. Complete Correction Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 in 30 (Beige), R960

5. Le Lift Crème Yeux: Firming anti-wrinkle eye cream, R1660

6. The Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base, R590

7. Eclat Lumiere Highlighter Face Pen, R515

8. Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow Pencil in No. 10, R345

9. Inimitable Intense Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel Sophistique, R355

10. Hydra Beauty Essence Mist, R650

11. Le Crayon Levres in 68, Rose Poudre, R505

12. Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Care, R505

13. Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Lip Sheer in Deauville 67, R390

THE RESULT:

A flawless, radiant and extremely hydrated natural-looking complexion.

MY FAVOURITE PRODUCT?

Chanel Complete Correction Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50 in Beige (shade 30). It contains peach extract to firm the skin, SPF 50, and the promise to reduce more than 20 percent of fine lines within one month. It really does it all!

Not only did Leon leave me with a glowing visage and a strong desire to purchase the whole Chanel collection (I live in hope!), he also offered these professional tips to help me recreate the look on my own…

BROWS: “For the perfect shade eyebrow pen, chose an eyebrow pencil that you perceive to match your face, then go one shade lighter.”

LASHES: “For long lashes, first begin by looking down and depositing the colour on the top of the eyelashes, and then move the brush in an upward direction to curl the eyelashes.”

LIPS: “For the perfect shade of lipstick and lip liner, look at your natural skin colour and choose a pen that matches that colour, then go one shade darker for more dramatic effect.”
