Disappointed. They don't stick well and start lifting and "melting" upon application of top coat.

After reading some good reviews on this product, I decided to give it a go, especially since it costs only R16 for the stickers!
The stickers are on a clear piece of plastic which makes selecting the correct size easy as you can put it over your nail to see what fits best.
I found that applying the stickers was a bit challenging as I couldn't get them to line up straight with my nail, and I had to fiddle around with them a bit to get them into position. Even then they weren't perfect, but looked okay.
Essence advises you to put a top coat over them to seal them, so I used my old Essence Better Than Gel Nails top coat.
I was not impressed as the top coat didn't seem to stick too well to the stickers, and after a day and a half it had started peeling off over the sticker. This obviously caused the little rhinestones to come off, and then the tips of the stickers started peeling.
After three days my nails looked terrible and I had to take them off. That was quite easy as they just peeled off.
Pros
- low price
- quicker than painting a french tip
- rhinestones look pretty
- easy to remove
- big range of sizes as there are 28 stickers
Cons
- can be a bit tricky to line them up correctly
- my top coat didn't stick to the sticker too well
- they only lasted 2 days before looking too tatty
- you have to have long nails to start with
I might try them again with a different top coat and see if that makes them last longer. If it wasn't for the top coat peeling off, I would use these all the time as they were quicker than painting my nails, and did look good for the first day.
