It comes in a red 200ml bottle and can be purchased at your local clicks or dischem.
The packaging of the product states that the product adds moisture and sheen as well as it detangles, softens and smooths.
The part that im most interested in is that it claims to keep hair smooth(since i have a head full of hair that would make Mufasa-from the Lion King feel ashamed).
Furthermore, Bone Strait is a thermally activated conditioner and blow dry lotion that gives hair more shine and manageability and besides TCB products being targeted for women of 'colour' i think that this product can be used on all types of hair.
There are various applications in which one can use this product namely for curly and natural styles, weekly conditioning(a mask), before blowing hair and for damaged hair- obviously when using it as a mask or treatment one has to use much more of the product than when using it as a blow dry lotion where one uses a little amount.
TCB Bone Strait Conditioner & Blow Dry Lotion
TCB Bone Strait Conditioner & Blow Dry Lotion is reasonably priced. It is a thermally activated conditioner and blow dry lotion that is supposed to give hair more shine and manageability with each use. It is supposed to allow hair to be blown straighter and curled tighter, rolled easier and bounce higher. However, this product works well as a conditioning treatment but sucks as a blow dry lotion. When I tried using it as a blow drying lotion, it left my hair weigh down and limp. I had to wash it out. Now I only use it as a conditioning treatment.
Bone Straight? Curly Too!
I discovered this product ages ago and have used many bottles over the years. I usually used it as a conditioner (it's a great detangler), so would rinse it off. When my curls started to frizz, I'd put a small dollop (about a ring nail size) on my hands and apply it to my curls, giving them definition again.
As with all products, I am sure it can become heavy if you use too much of it, which I suspect is what happens when you use it for blow drying. As someone who never blow-dries their hair, I found this a perfect leave-in product.
I would recommend this product to Caucasian ladies as well as those "of colour" (sic) as it seems to work for all hair types.
It does smell slightly like eggs, but it does the job and is very cheap, so even if you don't like it, you won't be wasting a lot of money! :)
perfect for strate and curly hair
this is an excellent product, works well even with curly hair, when my hair dries up the curls look shinny and healthy, and when I straighten my hair my hair is then pin straight, at such a low price I would definitely recommend this product.
This is a two-in-one conditioner and blow dry lotion. I've used it in the past but never liked it much. It's very sticky and weighed down my hair. It works okay as a conditioner but not as a leave-in. It's also very cheap.
Sticky but can be great!
I applied this before blow drying my hair. It was horrible! It caused my hair to feel heavy and it made my hands, hairbrush & hair sticky! I had to wash my hair again. But then I somehow discovered that it works AMAZING as a conditioner! It's a little hard to rinse off, but results are soft sleeky hair. I think it's a really great detangler.
Painful Experience for Fine hair
I have fine curly hair, now finding a produt that promises to straighten and protect my hair was a great find but this is not what I have experienced. The feel of the product is ok but once applied to the hair it causes it to bbecome sticky and difficult to comb or brush through which made blow-drying a painful nightmare. Though very cost effective, I stopped using it after the first try.
Affordable Blow-dry lotion for the girl(or guy) on a budget
I stumbled along this product when i used to go to a professional hair stylist. Now that daddy no longer fits the bill for my hair, i have resorted to blow drying my own hair.
I noticed that, initially my hair stylist used to use the Indola 4X4 blow style lotion on my hair but then as months went on, the Indola product disappeared like Hoodini and this product Bone Strait was now used on my hair- later on i found out the reason for this was the price.
Anyone who blow dry's their hair will understand the need for a small amount of hair protectant to resist humidity, keep the sleekness of the set and protect against heat damage.
Whilst shopping at clicks, i was over the moon to find that clicks stocks Bone Strait and the price was a mere R11.99. This is excellent because one only uses a small amount if blow drying and that means that the product has the possibility of lasting a long time. Upon application of the product, it makes ur hair feel as if u have applied conditioner to it, making it feel softer and detangling ur hair and i really concentrate on rubbing it into my ends.
i have used many other products and the end result in comparison to your other more expensive straightening creams or blow style lotion is that this product performs average. One will not go 'woooooow my hair is so shiny and glossy' with this product but it does assist in repelling humidity and making hair soft and more manageable.I used this product for years and would suggest it to anyone with a tight budget.
