My SkinMiles Experience

I was recently introduced to an online skincare retail store that recently launched in South Africa. I liked the concept as one can get expert online advice on what products are most suitable for one’s skin concerns without the necessity of making an appointment and going into the practitioners offices. I personally was drawn to the “Shop Dr. Only Products” section however they do consult and revert on over-the-counter solutions too.

Dr. Alek Nikolic, the renowned medical practitioner with over 20 years’ experience is the expert doctor behind the SkinMiles consultations.

After a detailed online skin questionnaire called the Face2Face, Dr. Alek timeously reverts with an honest and detailed skin solution for your highlighted skin issues, concerns or problems.
This was perfect for me as I have generally always been more comfortable to address my concerns via email!

This is me and my highlighted skin care concerns:
Age: 34
Skin type: dry
Skin concern:
Pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles

I have been using numerous skin care products which have left my skin very dehydrated and they have not seen a visible difference in my fine lines and pigmentation.

At the end of the application, I added this photo: (no makeup )

Within 24 hours I received an email directly from Dr. Alek himself and was so excited to open and read.

This is what he said:

Following from your photo and your details you filled out I can see the following skin concerns:
Some pigmentation marks, visible pores on the upper cheek, lower cheek, and T-Zone, and fine lines around the mouth, eyes, frown and forehead. Pigmentation is difficult to treat with topical products only but with the products I have recommended we should get improvement but this will take time. Some lightening will take place within 4 to 6 weeks.

Can you please email the exact product names you are using on your skin at the moment including any face wash, sunscreen etc.
You also mentioned you have tried other topicals in the past could you send me a list of these as well, please.

How amazing is this! I responded straight away answering his questions. What I loved the most was that he was honest about my pigmentation. He came back and recommended these products:

Dermaceutic Foamer 5 cleanser:

If you get a slight sensitivity or reaction on the skin stop using the Retinol until the sensitivity disappears and start again.

NeoStrata Bio hydrating Cream:

I immediately went online clicking on all those links above and ordered the products he suggested knowing he is by my side to help me get better skin. On the Site, there is so much information about the products, warning notes making you aware if a product is very strong. Products are also delivered directly to the client’s door free of charge. Another huge bonus!

The day after (I am based in Cape Town so was quicker) I received this

How fantastic, all the products beautifully wrapped in a black box (I chose the colour as an option) with a personalized note.

I will be sharing my results with you as I go along but all I can say for now is that SkinMiles really made me feel at ease as an online customer and a client. I can say so far I highly recommend them.

I am so excited to continue this journey and share it with you all! If you will be taking part in the SkinMiles journey too then please share your experiences with me below.
