1. What does QMS stand for?
‘QMS stands for Quick Medical Skin – but this is never written out in full. I always thought the M was for Magic because of the magnificence of the product!’
2. Are the QMS Medicosmetics suitable for all skin tones?
‘Yes, QMS Medicosmetics is suitable for all skin tones and skin types’
3. Are the QMS Medicosmetics suitable for men?
‘Yes, the products definitely suitable for men’
4. From what age can one start using QMS Medicosmetics? ‘Collagen starts depleting from 25, so ideally one should start then, however one could be more realistic and say 30… when people actually start to see the tiny lines appearing around their eyes. Unfortunately we always act after the fact!’
5. Should the products be kept in the fridge?
‘The only products that should be kept in the fridge are the collagens – (Day & Night Collagen and the Med Day Protection and Med Night Repair). Collagen must stay away from direct sun & heat and be stored in a cool place. It’s always advisable to keep all skincare products away from direct sun & heat’
6. What is the source of QMS collagen?
‘Source of our collagen is from just under a calf’s skin, no animals are killed for this purpose. It is the collagen with properties closest to that of human beings’
7. What is QMS Medicosmetics’ animal testing policy?
‘Dr Schulte definitely does not use animals for testing purposes – QMS Medicosmetics is a very ethical brand’
8. Are the products safe?
‘Our products are 100% safe to use, however one needs to be realistic – if someone is on Accutane (Isotretinoin) or Roaccutane, then it’s best that they consult their doctor before using QMS Medicosmetics or any other product for the matter. This also applies to people that have regular peels and laser – as the skin is very sensitive and can react while it is healing – after laser and peels I can honestly say that the med night repair is probably the best product to use to get the best out of peels and laser. Once the outer barrier of the skin has been damaged, then one should proceed with care & caution’
9. Can you use different brands simultaneously? (For instance the QMS Cleanser & the X brand moisturiser)
‘Yes you can use different brands with QMS Medicosmetics – but it is best not to use a cleanser that has mineral oil – as this blocks the pores and prevents absorption of other products, or vitamin c or fruit acids as the skin will be over stimulated if you are also using our exfoliant fluid. However, you can use our ‘classic set’ and a moisturiser and eye care of your choice, or your cleanser, serum and our moisturisers. We would prefer that you use all our products, but this is not always possible from a financial point of view – and we do understand this’
10. Are the products available online?
‘Our products are not yet available online, however if there isn’t a salon or spa in your area that stocks QMS Medicosmetics, then we are more than happy to courier the product to you. Prices are on the webpage www.qmsmedicosmetics.co.za’
